It's usually painfully slow for the first day or so, and 8.0.1 will be out in a couple of days I'm sure.

Will probably wait for my iPhone 6 to arrive.

I've been running the GM release for a week now, got in before the rush.

My iPhone is on it's way to the Netherlands to get a new battery at the moment so I'm using my work Nokia C1 ick.  Still until Yosemite comes out all the cool stuff isn't going to work anyways.

 

That's what I keep saying to myself anyway, trying to control the urge to line up on friday morning for the 6+.

Nearly did, then decided not too. I also might wait for my 6, once I manage to get it ordered! Let the 5's new owner decide whether to update...

Huge update and really not a lot of difference from what I can see on the iPad.

I had to delete apps and photos and music

I guess that they will be able to be put back after the upgrade...I hope

Hope so as it says 6.9GB needed but is only a 1.3GB downla

No need to remove anything if you do the upgrade via iTunes and a USB cable. Over the air the update needs about 5GB of free space to download, expand, merge and apply the update. Using Itunes and USB this is all done on the main computer, so no need for any real free space.

Be careful guys, heard on the news it's resetting phone to factory default after installation so be sure to backup first.

For the first 20 minutes after 6pm did anyone get the error message "Cannot Contact Update Server" - I am guessing it were getting hammered!

Settings > Siri , enable "Hey Siri"

It will only work when plugged into a charger otherwise it would drain the battery having the mic open all the time.

Another cool feature if you have an iPhone and an ipad running IOS8 or a mac running OSx Yosemite, you can answer your mobile calls using your iPad, iMac, iPod. All that's required is Bluetooth to be enabled and them to be logged into the same icloud account. From October you'll be able to reply to and compose SMS messages as well.

Upgraded last night, now having a number of issues with my Columbus Bluetooth. Anyone else?

When making a call from the touch screen the Columbus says call failed but the call gets through.

Signal strength on Columbis now not working (shows full signal all the time)

Incoming calls showing the wrong name on the maxi dot? Seems to show the last call I made instead?

Steering wheel buttons not working most of the time.

Was faultless with IOS7.

Jamze - Try remove the phone from Columbus and re-add if you have not already done so - This may fix you issue.

Thanks. Tried that just now, didn't help but I'll give it another go this eve (and a phone reboot too). Hope IOS8 hasn't mucked this up as it was working great, had no issues at all.
