vRS Confirmed Build Week! :O

Featured Replies

So, having ordered on October 16th 2013 I have, at long last, been told (after phoning SUK directly) that my build week is confirmed as BW11!

The car in questions is as follows:

vRS estate
TSI manual
Candy White
Anthracite Gemini's
Black Pack
White stitching
Columbus
Canton
Cruise Control

I got deeply worried by reports that the factory re-shuffle had screwed up everyone's provisionals, but thankfully I seem to have escaped that.

The question is, will the wonderful people at Westover Skoda feel the need to inform me of this...???

As I've documented elsewhere, they've been terrible at communicating with me, and the last build update I received was at the beginning of February, with a provisional BW18.

A week after that, I phoned SUK to investigate why I was so far behind everyone else, and was told when they phoned me back the following Monday that I was now on a provisional BW11.
Westover have not informed me of this over the past 3 weeks...

So, will they inform me it's gone confirmed...?

Regardless, I'm excited again.

Stick in there everyone who's ordered a VRS. You'll one day be told your car has a confirmed build date, and you'll turn into giggling child  :giggle:

Good for you!

I'm still considering a change, but not really excited by the alternatives.   Still.... So long as the old Mondeo doesn't die on me I suppose it's cheap motoring for a few weeks longer.

Back to you though, you must be very excited!  I hope it all goes well.

Nice to hear some vRS's are rolling outta the factory, slight side note, dealers communications are poo but, thinking about it they're on what 10% of 25K or £2.5K so, not a lot.  Moved house a couple a three years ago, ended up give the estate agent £6K, solictors £37.5K and even the removal guys £2.25K and none of those MoFo's were any better at communicating.  Sadly I think its just a sign of the time, F me that sounds like something my Dad would have said.

I ordered a VRS TSI just a few days before OP. My car was built during wk 6 and will be collected tomorrow. I must say that communication with my dealer has been excellent. They kept me updated regularly regarding "no build week yet", "provisional build dates (changed twice)", "confirmed build date", and where exactly the car was when in transit to the UK. Despite them receiving the car just a few days before March 1st they gave me the option of new-Reg day collection, but I preferred to avoid the stampede and wait until tomorrow. Now I just need to hope that the car itself is fine.

I think service quality depends upon the Dealership used and then the individual Sales Person.

edit: Just counted my emails, and I have received 26 updates and responses from the Salesman since placing my order 5 months ago.

Come on Orville cough up, who are they ?

We're all quick enough to name a shame so, lets sing their praises too

My dealer's comms weren't good but, I got 8.65% off Q4-2013 prices so, I don't care if I had to work a little to find out what I needed to kno, I got what I wanted for what I wanted to pay and if anyone else wants a mid Hants dealer to price match their carwow price talk to Mr Nathan Piper @ City Skoda Basingstoke his comms ain't great but, his prices are.

I collect the car tomorrow so I am reluctant to name them today just in case they balls something up at the final hurdle. You'll have to wait until then:).

Congrats mate. At least there is light at the end of the tunnel now!

Meadens in Sway are sending me weekly updates on mine :) So I guess I should thank you for suggesting them!!

I have the car now and it is perfect. Everything works, and after spending an hour going every detail I cannot see a thing out of place. I had two small user-error related issues. The first was the car refusing to read music off of my SD card. This was caused by me formatting the card in NTFS format rather than FAT32. The second issue concerned stop-start not working, but I eventually realised that is was disabled due to the fast-clear button being active for the Air-Con. Both my mistakes.

The dealer used was Lee at Preston Motors. He gave a very fair deal, but not the lofty 8.65% you achieved. Still, 0% Finance, Free Servicing, a fair discount and great service means that I will certainly be returning to them if my next car is a Skoda. Despite taking 5 months for delivery it was by far the best new car buying experience i have encountered.

Collecting mine on the 9th.

Getting excited :)

Taken by me when I popped in to see the thing:

Although it's all covered up, I think it looks fantastic. I don't think any photos do it justice in fact. The white stitching looks brilliant, and the exterior has, for me at least, just enough aggression to look interesting, but not so much that it's too 'in-yer-face' or ostentatious.

Two days and counting then.

Enjoy the vRS TSI Manual experience!
