Been busy with the polishing stuff this week. So far I have managed to do the bonnet, front bumper and the 2 front wings (I have a very short attention span which is why I polish panel by panel. Also helps having a small car!). Cleaning/polishing method is as follows:

Rinse with jetwash.

Wash

Rinse

Clay

Rinse

Dry

Polish using Autoglym Super Resin polish

Buff

2nd coat of polish

Buff

Sealant (Autoglym again)

Buff

Sonax BSD

Buff

The red paint on the Citigo responds really well to this treatment and looks flippin' brilliant. If it's dry tomorrow I will get the roof done and start on the doors and see how far I get. Might even take some photos.

Tornado Red certainly does buff up a treat. There's so much depth in the shine [emoji106]

Lovely day today but did I manage to get out and get the car cleaned and polished? No!

Mrs T decided that her car needed doing so I washed her Fabia and applied Rain-X to the windows. She then decided that I was needed to do some greenhouse repairs on our Community Garden so 2 hours were spent replacing panes and making it weatherproof. I did have time to wash, clay, polish, seal and wax the tailgate of my Citigo and I might get an hour this evening to do the roof but the great detailing session I had planned has not materialised, and we are off to look at another house this afternoon.

Pleasant evening tonight so I started on the roof. Rinsed, washed, rinsed, clayed, rinsed, dried, polished (just one layer, it is, after all, the roof!), buffed, sealed, buffed, Sonax BSD, rain, **** **** **** I've not finished buffing off the Sonax yet ...

Grrrrrrrr I think it should be OK but will double check in daylight tomorrow.

Damn weather [emoji19]

It gives us OCD people no peace.

Been a week and no more progress on the polishing front, hopefully the weather will be kind on Good Friday and I can finish her off.

Off to Leeds tomorrow to collect daughter for the Easter break so will give the car a good run out to stretch her legs.

A bit grey this morning but I managed to get out and clean/polish/seal/wax the rear bumper and the driver's door. Just the passenger door, 2 rear panels and both sills to do and then I can give the whole car a wash and final once over with Sonax BSD. Will I get this completed over the Easter weekend? We shall see.

In between showers I have managed to get out and do the passenger door and the 2 rear wings leaving just the sills to do. Will be well chuffed when its finished and can just maintain the Sonax layer.

Still have 2 wheels to clean properly and give the sealant treatment inside and out.

After that I want to do something with the under-bonnet plastics but haven't decided exactly what yet.

Got the sills done this morning and I'm very happy with the result. Car needs a final clean and layer of Sonax but that can wait for next weekend; off to Rotherham for the football tomorrow. Here's a few pictures; not sure if they do the car justice, it really is a deep shiny red:

I think I have some of that somewhere. Cleaning tyres just seems a bit ... well ... pointless to me!

It's worth it though, you gotta admit it :p

I do. I just don't want anyone to see me doing it!

And why not? All you need to do is quickly spray onto the tyre wall and leave it to set

Because normal people do not clean tyres!

But that shine tho!

Day out with my lad to Rotherham today to watch the football (please don't ask the score   ).

48 miles each way with a mix of motorway, dual carriageway, A and B roads, rural and some town stuff. The Citigo managed 58 mpg on the way there and 55 mpg on the way back and I wasn't driving economically at all. The little Citigo continues to impress me and I suspect it surprised a few other drivers with its speed out of the blocks; she really does pick up her skirt and move when you want her to. You do occasionally have to use the gearbox to get the best out of her but its no hardship to do so. And roundabouts really are great fun as well.

Roundabouts can be fun.. but you **** a couple when your flying round one, in control of the car of course and see a copper waiting to pull onto the same roundabout :D
