  • Hi, just a quick introduction having been a reader but not a poster on the forum for some time. I'm a Brit living in Germany and finally picked up my red Monte Carlo last week. The pick up was in Muni

Looks awesome! Thanks for the picture. Now i have to go to my local Skoda dealer to get the price on black interior for mine also :-)

I could easily live without the black and red seats; I would certainly prefer all black. But once you've sat down you don't notice it.

Mrs T was complaining that there were no side bolsters on the seats to stop her rolling around during cornering; damn those vRS owners! I did reply about how good the handling was that seemed to perplex her a bit!

Yeah, the citigo is in a different league handling wise to the vrs. Just get her to follow you down a really twisty Road. She'll not have a hope in hell of keeping up with you, despite the best part of 120bhp advantage.

My Rapid Sport has the Sport seats but to be honest I find my Citigo Sport seats more comfy [emoji57]

And more fun on bendy roads [emoji16][emoji106]

I find the Citigo very comfy and I have the steering wheel to hang on to!

Brakes have bedded in nicely and I'm beginning to gain confidence in the handling; still a bit too bouncy for my liking if it hits a bump mid corner.

It is a little bouncy I agree

I've pushed mine really hard into sharp corners and it's yet to break away from me so I'm very confident in its handling [emoji106][emoji16]

I think you need a new camera ;)

LOL. It is a seriously rubbish photo isn't it. It's my phone which really struggles with shadow and sunlight.

Looks lovely!

Tempted to get a test drive in a citigo tbh, see what all the fuss is about.

Is the handling really go-kart like?

Is the handling really go-kart like?

Oh yes [emoji16]

I've pushed mine to the max and still hasn't broken away yet [emoji106]

Well, its not the max then? ;) haha

Haha yes didn't think of that [emoji6]

Ok I'm still pushing it or my luck [emoji16]

Having raced karts the answer is no; karts are rear wheel drive so naturally oversteer.

But, it is very chuckable and I am slowly getting more confident in the handling; whatever, it is great fun!

Keep at it! Haha.

Its not like its an unpredictable supercar. If it does break away it wont be catastrophic. Shouldn't take much getting back! Lol.

Sounds good though. I just might have a test drive when I've got some free time

Collected the variable boot floor bits today and the postman delivered the sound insulation sheets and carpet material. All I need now is some nice weather and a free day to get it done!

2 weeks of ownership and Mrs T has declared that she doesn't like the Citigo and wants to change it. Not sure what we're going to change it to but an almost new Citigo Monte Carlo might be available in the near future.

Change it after 2 weeks?.Sorry to hear that, any particular reason for the wifes dislike of your MC?.

Female logic at work I'm afraid. The reasons for buying it was that it costs almost nothing to run, is easy to park, is comfortable and looks OK. Apparently it's too slow, seats aren't as comfy as those in her vRS and its too small! And she wasn't too happy when I pointed out that those were the reasons we bought it! She has relented a little now; it looks like we will be keeping it but she is refusing to be seen in it!  WOMEN!

My wife looked at and sat in Citigo and Up! and didn't like them at all. She then sat in a Seat Mii and bought it! Women are from another planet.

Fitted the variable boot floor this evening; easy peasy. It does make the boot very shallow but does give that 'out of sight' underfloor storage and a flat load bay which is very useful. Will try and find some time this weekend to get the sound proofing completed.

Finally been asked to pick my reg and the car should be ready for collection end of next week.

Had to collect daughter from school for half term today. The 17 mile trip up the A15 was completed at a simply amazing 71.8mpg although this did, of course, drop off when we reached the motorway. Overall, though, 156 miles completed at an average of 58mpg makes me very happy.
