  • Hi, just a quick introduction having been a reader but not a poster on the forum for some time. I'm a Brit living in Germany and finally picked up my red Monte Carlo last week. The pick up was in Muni

  • Boot carpet and boot liner fitted; colour match is spot on too:           I had to trim the boot liner at the edges as I have the variable boot floor fitted, but there were marks on the

  • On the plus side, if she isn't going to ride in it she won't notice if I put coilovers on!

Needs bigger rims with spacers on the rear. :)

You preferably need spaces front and rear, I happened to find a some online designed for the citigo (something like a 20mm spacer) but it's over the £100 mark, there are 3 but only 1 comes with screws

Tweenster might get a bit jealous after seeing those wheels ;)

LOL! I'm cool with it; I like these wheels but I won't be fitting them, I prefer 15s.

And I'll stick with my one of a kind black 14" minis :D

The wheels were the standard fit on the German Monte Carlo, I do like them though.

You have better roads in Germany!

You have better roads in Germany!

Agreed. Germany's roads are maintained to a higher level. Up here, I drive like I'm drunk as I swerve avoiding potholes regularly!

Or perhaps you can't see due to all the snow on the car (hinting to a recent picture ;)) :D

OH! So that's what it was! Had the air conditioning on, wondered why it wouldn't clear... :D

Gave the Citigo a quick clean today and then took her for a spin. I drove like Colin McRae where it was safe to do so and Like Miss Daisy where I had to, thoroughly enjoyed the drive out and despite using 6000rpm on several occasions it still had 50+mpg on the PID. I really do like this little car.

As an aside, I've settled on 29psi all round for the tyres, the recommended 26 on the rear seems a little low and bouncy and I find it more settled on 29.

Checked mine the other day and all were 20psi [emoji15]

Put them up to 28 and it's so much better now. [emoji106]

Mine just had it's service, if I check them now I'm guessing they'll be at 40psi :D

Haha you're probably right [emoji6]

Was a nice morning today and managed to get out and give the Citigo a clean, a layer of Sonax BSD and a clean of the windows. Looking really good; I don't think the photos do it justice but the red really does 'gleam'.

The downside to giving it a good clean is finding all the stone chips and scratches. There are some small scratches on the roof (courtesy of the resident peacocks I believe), a stone chip on the leading edge of the bonnet and one on the nearside near the fog light. Hey ho, the joy of car ownership.

:mmm: the number plate looks different, is it one of those ones with numbers/letters that stick out if that makes at all any sense?

Yes, pressed metal plate in a plate holder, so no screws in the plate.

Just needs a bonnet / roof stripe lol.

No thank you; it's a Monte Carlo not a Sport. But I do fancy a gloss black roof!

Looking forward to seeing the black roof. Shame SUK don't give us in the UK the option of the sunroof on the monte.

Another nice day so I thought I would get out and treat my wheels to a layer of Carbon Collective Platinum wheel sealer. Unfortunately (and once again!) I failed at the first hurdle in that my trolley jack/hockey puck combo is not low enough to get under the Citigo. So, being the King of Short Cuts, I decided that I would just do the fronts and save the full clean for another day. So I gave the wheels a wash, dried them off and applied the CC sealer. Dead easy to do; they don't 'gleam' but apparently this sealer is good for some 2 years before it needs re-doing. I'll et you know how it performs.

The good news was that the wheels are still in A1 condition; no scratches, kerb marks, dings or anything.

Oh yes, and I gave it a thrash around the lanes whilst getting dinner - great fun!

I love the word "thrash" [emoji16]

These seem to like it too [emoji106]

I'm still surprised my black wheels have lasted a year without damage
