Are the vrs sill covers from jhm butto genuine vrs ones like in bandits pic, or are they cheap style ones.

If you get a price from your skoda dealer, please let me know thanks as i want some too!

The part numbers for Butt's doorsill covers are not Skoda part numbers. Remember too that Butt's prices do not include VAT and PP.

otheos

The part number for the Octavia logo doorsill cover set is KDA 072 016 and that for the plain cover is KDA 072 009. Sorry, can't help with the 4X4 logo cover, nor the4X4 boot mat.

The parcel shelf luggage pouch for the Hatch is DMA 071 008A (>MY 2001) and DMA 310 001 (MY 2001>).

How do you fir the sill protectors?

What glue do you use?

Are there anny corrosion issues raised by the creation of damp crannies?

They stick-on with really sticky tape already affixed to the protectors. I haven't had any problems with water ingress and you can't move 'em once they're on!:D

Can PPL confirm, are both

Butts spares

and

Skoda Parts

sill protectors BOTH come with sticky tape?

Jono, you could always used double-sided carpet fixing tape if the Butt's ones don't come with sticky tape. Buy whichever ones you fancy and then get some of that tape if you need to - which you shouldn't. :)

Someone must know where those vrs sill protectors come from as there definately not skoda official ones, while im quite certain jhm buttos dont sell them.

the creation of damp crannies

 Mmmm...

Hi all,

Check out the 'for sale' section if any of you are interested in some JH Butt and co. vRS front sill protectors as I may have a set up for grabs (see ad).

Cheers

Hugh

For anyone interested, just got back from the friendly dealer, I took the part numbers bandit1 posted earlier along. They are listed on the new etka, here are the part numbers again with price (exc VAT)

1U0 853 491A Cover Strip RS-WRC Left Front £15.38

1U0 853 492A Cover Strip RS-WRC Right Front £15.38

1U0 853 541A Cover Strip RS-WRC Left Rear £15.38

1U0 853 542A Cover Strip RS-WRC Right Rear. £15.38

All 4 parts as you can see cost the same, so it would be about £60 +VAT for all the bits. The parts guy is phoning skoda parts for me to see if they do these in kit form as it would be cheaper, and to check if any additional bits are required to fit these.

have we seen a pic yet of these particular WRC parts?

It's got really confusing now,

The guy at the dealer spent quiet sometime on the phone to skoda parts, but they could not confirm what those part numbers relate to, apart from the fact it's from the "Rally Car" their words not mine. Not available in a kit, so if you want them you have buy them as individual parts and hope that when they turn up its what you were after.

Denis VRS is for winners baby!

Bandit, thanks for the cat codes, went down to my dealer the other day, who has found the vrs octavia sills and will be delivered next week.

I was shocked to find out that the fabia vrs comes with them as standard, i find this quite discriminating!!!!

At last, something the "real" vRS doesn't have but the fake one does :p
