Winter wheel advice for VRS

Featured Replies

Is there no 17" steels in the VAG range?

For example VW Transporter or Caddy?

I don't think many places sell steel wheels over 16", probably because in larger sizes they become significantly heavier than the alloy equivelant.

Hi guys,

Great tip by the poster who sussed out that Eskoda-shop.cz site! I have a vrs tdi hatch hopefully being built in week 47, and i want to get a 2nd set of wheels for winter tyres. That Czech site has great prices. I was looking at the 17 inch Dorados, as i've seen those in the vrs brochure. Does anyone by any chance have a set of these on their vrs?? Id love to see a pic of then on a car. Although these are in the brochure, i dont ever remember seeing them in the configurator on the skoda ireland site - maybe they were an option in other markets tho?

Love this forum, it was a great help when deciding what spec i wanted, and i find myself checking in very regularly even since i've put in the order. Big time looking forward to getting it now, first new car ;-)

Cheers

John

Just fitted my winters:-

17" Dezent TD Dark with 225/45/17 Hankook optimo 4s tyres.

Time to test!

Thanks to everyone regarding sizing and general pointing us in the right direction.

Kev

My winter wheels are still in the garage. Far too warm to put them on yet, when the forecasts start saying about prolonged freezing conditions then they'll go on.
