I think WhatCar like it! (Octy 2vRS)

Sounds good!

Wish people would lose the obsession with 'curtain airbags'

"electric front windows" - does that mean the rear windows are manual?

Possible that you'll have to get the Elegance spec if you want lazy rear windows ;)

The things they're dropping to keep the price down

looks like electric rear windows to me.

Thats blinking cheapness if you ask me. I mean no rear leccy windows is just poor. For a car thats going to have to be a big seller and the one that sticks in peoples minds, they shouldve gone all out really. And if all out means leccy windows and extra airbags, for the small cost, they shouldve done it.

I think you're right, Manny. It wouldn't make sense for it to be lower spec than the current vRS (although this new one is less powerful than my "old" vRS for some unknown reason  )

Anyway, so far I'm not impressed. I trust "What Car?" reviews about as much as I'd trust a review in "The Beano" I'm waiting for Evo magazine to review it at least.

Why does it say price: TBA and then goes on to say that its good value for money at

I think that's their target price that you should be able to negotiate at the dealers.

Of course the car pictured is left hand drive so it's not going to be UK spec - some countries wil have the electric rear windows and others won't.

I like the interior and the new rear badge. Optional 18's is nice idea not so sure about manual AC though.

Think everyone is forgetting what its value will be in twelve months time.

As a private buyer thats when I always look to buy a car.12 months or older.

Still looks expensive to me when compared with the Focus ST.

The Focus gets a 2.5litre, 5cylinder, turbocharged, 222bhp engine, will pull 0-62 in 6.5secs and comes with 18" alloys standard for

Looks miles ahead of the Octy 1 in terms of build and trim quality

im really starting to like the new octy vrs :D its got a very nice boot

*Awaits the invite from his dealer to try one*

I agree the trim looks a step up from the Octy 1 and it should be due to the step up in price.

As for Build quality, time will tell. As all the Surveys show the Octy 1 is one of the best built cars on UK roads and certainly built better than other VAG products on the same platform.

The Octy1 has always slightly outperformed the Fabia for build quality, rattles and relibility on satisfaction surveys as well.

Here's hoping the Octy2 will build on the success and gain top slot from the Japs.

Cheers
