Rattle in divider net

Featured Replies

I have the divider net on the estate, that you can roll up and attach to the ceiling. When it is not in use, the bar used to attach it is making a rattle noise when driving bumpy roads.

When attached to the ceiling it is all good.

I guess it is the metal bar vibrating in the housing. Anyone else experienced this?

This isn't a U.K. option, although I would have had it if it was.

I don't understand why they differ the configuration so much among the countries?

It must be some marketing reasons for it.

It must be. The problem is probably that each country actually has a marketing department and they have to have something to do.

That net is something I really miss from my old BMW 320d - it makes the boot so much more useful!  Why it isn't standard on all estates, I'll never know - along with an opening rear window!

It is not a very expensive addon either. And you can also use it with the back seats folded as there are mounting points in the ceiling in front too.

I have the net, but leave it mounted to ceiling the whole time.

I ordered it with mine. Will have to comment on the rattling or lack there of when the car finally arrives.

I couldn't imagine having an estate without the net. I've had it on my current car and it's been great every time I have to transport something that doesn't fit under the boot cover or if I need to fold the seats. It really should be standard in all estates...I feel sorry for anyone who buys a used car from someone who hasn't picked that option, since it seems the mounting points can't be retrofitted either...

I didn't have it on my mkii, and was the only option I really regretted not ordering. Especially with children in the back seat, you don't want to stuff thing too high and risk them coming flying towards their head.

The rattle seems to have become better after using it one time.
