Is it that difficult?

Featured Replies

Today I set of on my travels with 2 vrs lined up to view and hopefully buy one.

Both apparently were mint well looked after and low miles.

1: 56 plate, red 58k , front end held together with cable ties and the trader never noticed walked off after a second looking at it fuming.

2 : 06 plate, silver 47k , quite a few scuffs, door card damaged , previous mot last year stated pads low, mot this month no advisories and pads almost shot so a Dogey mot.

280 miles later I'm home hacked off and back to searching the net yet again, I would love a vrs but I'm not looking at other options as I need to sort something sooner than later.

If anyone has a decent mk2 Octavia vrs please get in touch the cash is waiting and I can collect asap but please don't waste my time or yours Im genuine and want a genuine seller

Help me guys !

What's the max you want to pay?

I feel your pain mate, I looked at 2 munters before I found mine, one was at a specialist performance car garage and one private, they both looked like they had had a hard life with deep stone chips all over and small dents/scratches everywhere.

I eventually found one at a skoda dealers and while it was £1000 more in price it was a million times better than the others, came with full history a years skoda warranty and a free service the following year, I've had it 3 years now and have never regretted buying it.

Keep looking there are some still some good examples around.

Having similar problems in my search for an octy. Your not alone. Had a day off due to the bad weather today. Tomorrow the search goes on. Some possibilities on the net but to far to travel to check them out. If only someone lived near Tadcaster lol.

I'll have a nosy not looked on there for a couple of days, are you selling one?

[emoji106]

Would like to find one of here as forum cars tend to be looked after but hardly any for sale

And modded plus hammered on track :giggle:

Sounds daft but have you spoken to some of your local garages or Skoda dealer to see if they know of any?

It's Sod's law I advertised my mint 59 plate one owner from new privately inc on here and didn't get one enquirey.

I was gutted to offload it to WBAC for 5.5k as I would have loved it to have gone to a good home.

I had loads off additional history receipts for additional oil changes, updated brake pads etc. These got binned as not required.

I too am beginning to look around at a similar price point. There's a few near me with higher miles (100k+) at under 5 but theres not much choice. Patience is required on these challenges :)

No wonder mine was snapped up quick then. I'd keep an eye on the site and wait.

You'll probably do better to get a car from a keen OCD owner. Plenty of people just don't care about their cars even thought they've spent thousands on them.

Keep an eye on the sills of anything that isn't facelifted. I'd looked after mine and it was still starting to rot.
