Workmate had an r32 manual. She loved it. They moved it on because the boot was too small for prams etc (something to bear in mind if that's a possibility in the near future).

She still misses it yet.

I don't think it was actually that much faster than a GTI but it was just a nicer car to be in V6 engine note etc.

The sound of that v6 engine is very nice, and like mentioned above everything will be going 1.6 turbo so the likes of the r32 will become rarer and rarer. I've noticed if I buy a 05-06 one it's cheaper tax band of 285 :) I did look at the seat leon cupra k1 but the interior is quite poor imo compared to the golf ed30.

Yes that right, the older ones are in the cheaper tax bracket.

It is the same dash as the Audi A3 but with different coloured dials and buttons.  You don't say whether you have kids or pets to cart around or how practical you need it to be?  I guess not that practical if you are including a 350Z in your thoughts.

Have you thought about a Boxster?  Well within budget for a decent one.  Audi S4 with a nice V8 is also well within range.

Is it? The golf is leagues better then! No pets or kids thankfully . i will have to check insurance with a Porsche and the v8 Audi lol I'm 24 so would prob rape me. Insurance on the r32 is £600 .
