Hi

 

I'm doing some troubleshooting (rough idle) and would like to unplug the air mass sensor/meter (MAF) for a moment, but I simply cannot identify it in the engine bay. :think:

 

I have even searched the web for more than 2 hours now without a single useful result. Lots of result for other petrol versions and TDIs, but NOTHING for the 1.4 TSI 122ps (90kw).

 

Can anybody here point me in the right direction?

Got the same engine but only just had my car a couple of days so still finding my way around it. Cant find a mention of it in Elsawin. its usually on one of the air intake pipes coming from the air filter housing. Got the parts drawing up of that on elsawin but cant see a MAF sensor.

 

Edited just to say found a link fron the VW golf forum with the same engine. Says they have 2 map sensors but no maf http://www.vagoc.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=12698&page=6

It's the same for workshop-manuals.com. ZERO mentioning of the MAF on the 1.4, whereas the MAF location is clearly explained for the 1.8/2.0. Unbelievable...

 

Also, if you try and search for the spare part on buycarparts.co.uk and similar sites, nothing comes up. Makes no sense.

pretty sure the 1.4tsi doesn't have MAF, as the Fabia 1.4Tsi on the VRS doesn't have one either

Thanks for the input!    I was just about to come to the same conclusion myself. Having searched low and high for the past half an hour, I saw mentioning of the VAG 1.4 engines apparently using the intake air temp sensor together with the MAP sensor to figure out the air mass coming in...
