mudflaps

Featured Replies

fitted front and rear mudflaps today on our sport   quite easy but the inner fixing was a faf  use a cabletie on the rears and a self taping bolt on fronts

They are a good thing to have and look good [emoji106]

I got the dealer to fit mine on PDI as I'm too lazy to do it [emoji6]

I have been thinking of buying ones for mine too! It's always an extra protection!

im too tight to pay dealer to fit them they said they have too take wheels off fitted them with wheels on that's why bit of a struggle

I'm having them fitted to mine before I pick it up on Saturday

I've neard heard of using a cabletie to hold on a mudflap!?

I believe I'm getting front and rear mudflaps (plus rubber cabin mats) for my birthday in a couple of weeks.

The current weather and the spray up the sides of the car are clear indicators that they are a must-have (and i have had them fitted eventually to every car I've owned).

As it'll be a wheels off job I need a dry day to get it done.

They look very smart when fitted [emoji106]

I've gone for the rubber mats as well for the Winter. I'll get a set of carpet ones when spring rolls round next year and keep the rubber ones for winter and camping

That's exactly the approach I always take. I've currently removed my proper Skoda carpet mats from the car - they came out before the bad weather ruined them - and I replaced them with a cheap set from Value Car Mats. They will come out when I get the rubber ones.

Hah - turns out the option I chose included a rubber boot mat as well. well chuffed

OCD alert!!!  ;)

Protecting the carpet with carpet mats  - then protecting the carpet mats with cheaper value carpet mats - then protecting those with rubber mats - I've got several meters of plastic sheeting in the garage if you need another layer .

Man  - Falkirk is short on excitement :D

I got one too - with the Mudflaps and Mats package

I see :nerd:

In a weekend when I had a great gig with the band last night, won £6 on the Euromillions, got my new car, it's my wife's birthday and we're having a party tonight this was another bonus.  :cocktail:

It's like when you think you've just ate the last biscuit but you delve deeper and there's another one hiding at the bottom.

That would be me also. When I removed the mats from the Citigo I had 2 layers of mats on top Skoda mats. Only got 1 set in the Toledo, that's on top of the Seat mats.

But me being OCD I had a settee throw over the back seat which spread down to the floor and tucked under the mats then another set of mats sat on top of them. You see, on a Saturday morning it's football training for the grandson, he's usually covered in mud head to toe afterwards and no shower facilities. Guess what, the pitch was so muddy this morning he played on an indoor pitch.

That's me let of let off cleaning the mud off the duel set of mats today, better than on the car interior though.

Post a pic of the car Mick, we've been waiting forever.

I wanted a silver one but I only had cash for metallic or 17s  - so the rims won and the car was white.

Was going to get a pic today, I'll sort something tomorrow.  ;)

As this thread is about mudflaps I can't seem to source any, well not without going to a dealer. Theirs seem to be £85 a set, front or back, so £170 the lot. That seems very steep, is that a fitted price?  I can fit myself so any suggestions?

Car comes with pretty much everything else I would want including full mat set, cargo nets and hooks, already has bag hooks fitted, those cubby holes in the boot and a full spare wheel kit.

A bit apprehensive about all the reports of water in the rear doors, built up of condensation in the rear (window) and booming or droning noise etc in some Rapid models but none of this in the Toledo. The only concern I had was it seemed a little hard ride but I sorted that, err again yet another dealer with a malfunctioning tyre gauge, or they can't read. I mean 38 psi all round, apart from this all good, dealer was ok, a straight forward purchase.

Will get those pics

I was £100 for mats, flaps and boot mat.

The car has the droning boot noise but I'm going to try tackling this tomorrow

I love this car

See if Skoda dealer is cheaper than SEAT dealer - their option prices are not aligned.

The 2014 Toledo has the modified suspension and steering and the ride seems fine to me even on 17's

Will the Rapid mud flaps fit the Toledo?

The front wings are the same.

The rear arches look the same here too:

Got a set here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261335473917?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I bought my mudflaps for the Citigo from this dealer, genuine VW Up! mudflaps. They fit ok no problem, so if the Rapid arch/sill profiles are the same I don't think it will be a problem. Certainly better on my pocket than £170 for the Seat jobs.

Oh and thanks for the rear end picture. :notme:

So what does one think, go for these in the hope they will fit?

They look the same but the part numbers are different on the SEAT. Why not ask a dealer that sells both - Hortons of Lincoln for instance.

In fact your ebay seller sells SEAT bits as well
