New Car

Featured Replies

I apologise straight away it's not a Rapid and seeing as I still want to stay here (on the forum) I bought the closest car to compare with the Skoda model.

I have been looking for a few months to swap my Citigo for a Rapid and doing the general internet searches in that time it kept throwing up various models and spec but nothing really took my eye. That was until I went along to a Seat dealer and I took a look at all they had to offer. A few more weeks went by and I was beginning to lose the will to look anymore and maybe wait in anticipation of the new Fabia coming next year.

So it  was really one more search around 10 days ago that found 3 cars I really liked, one at a dealer in Scotland and two at the same dealer in the North West. So North West it was, we took a trip there, got an acceptable part ex price for our Citigo, laid a deposit down, job done.

It's a pre reg 14 plate Toledo SE Nav, 10 miles on the clock and at a price I couldn't refuse. Love the look of the car, the drive is great. The engine is so quiet at idle, I find myself turning the radio down just to make sure it's still running. All in all a very good spec car for the money.

Looks really nice

Wow! Look at all that kit you don't get as standard on a Rapid Sport :giggle:

Seriously that is the best colour for the car

Yes on my wish list was Silver or Platinum Grey paint. Yes a pretty impressive amount of kit in this model, the perfect package really and it all comes as standard, what's not to like, just the badge I guess to some.

My Citigo insurance was due for renewal last week so they came up with a quote to swap over to the Toledo for an extra £40. I could have got sub £200 cover elsewhere but stuck with my current company. Coupled with £30 VED due to the stop/start it's not bad on that score either. First impressions going on the fuel consumptions so far I reckon we may see something like 10-15mpg less on the Toledo than I was getting in the Citigo, depending on my right foot of course and the engine loosening up.

Very pleased with the purchase so far.

10000 miles up the road, so am I - bought because it was an amazing bargain, but turned out to be a really nice car too!

Toledo - great choice. With brand new SE nav's available for less than £12,500 IMO they offer far better vfm than its Rapid sister car! Enjoy the new purchase :)

Looks lovely and i agree, it's possibly the nicest colour for the Toledo - the bright silver doesn't draw your eye to the wheel arch gap as some darker colours do.

They do seem to throw more equipment at them don't they?  If they did 0% on PCP and free servicing, this would probably have been the route i would have gone down too but with 17'' upgrade wheels.

Enjoy!

But they do. Even with nothing down as a deposit its 0% rate finance plus £2,000 off before negotiating! :)

Edit - interestingly the above offers are also available on the new i-tech trim level - alcantara seats, nav, meal dash inlays and anthracite alloys... Nice.

Looking good - it's sickening how much extra kit you get in the Seat version.

Very nice indeed. But the only extra i see is Climatronic compared to mine :)

Climate control and nav (and probably tyre pressure sensors) that are missing from my Rapid SE. Grrrr

Stormchaser's Sport has the Admusden i believe.  Think the 0% on the Toledo is only on the straight HP not PCP.

Which makes it an even better deal. I would never buy a car on PCP, only normal HP as I want to own the asset and want fixed payments without a balloon payment at the end.

I have the Amundsen in mine as it was the deal breaker for me.I could have never lived with the Swing unit in there.

Does it come as standard on the Sport? I know the Connect did.

Its on Seat Solutions so its PCP for sure. :)

I continue to toy with the idea of retrofitting either an Amundsen or a Columbus, but at the same time, now I've hidden all the cables and wired in my Garmin, that is working well and benefits from more frequent (and free) map & POI updates. I'm getting on well with the Swimg, more so now I've got a working (albeit BMW) Lightning to USB+3.5mm cable.

No you only get the Swing HU as standard. You can,t even spec the Amundsen anymore.Instead you can only have the overpriced, unreliable Kenwood HU now.

The I-tech interior is sweet but the dark wheels are visually shrunken - they look awful against pale paint colours in the flesh, and there's no factory option to change them.

I got the PCP quote  "cash price" but did my own financing based around that very low starting point and saved even more.  SEAT finance couldn't compete.

Yeah, have to agree re the wheels - very colour dependant - its  a nice touch of differentiating the special edition model though. :)

Climate, Amundsen, stopstart, and 8 button steering wheel which is excellent and well worth getting on yours too

I've got Amunsden and yes the switches for steering wheel would be great too. Glad I haven't got Stop/Start and Climatronic is an option. Good for Seat giving all that as standard.

Stop start gets you cheap(£30) RFL even if you switch it off :)

Isn,t that a Greentech thing on Skoda and isn,t avaliable on the Sport?

I really regret not buying a brand new Suzuki Swift Sport with everything as standard and in stock for only £12K but i wanted to keep loyal to Skoda :(
