Probably his cost price, otherwise they'd be losing money.

Bit strange how they wouldn't give you the price over the phone...pretty sure when Horners do maildrops they include the prices of certain vehicles...

I am interested in this and posted in the thread last week but noone would tell me where they were buying them. I phoned 4 dealers, none of which had heard of it.

So what are some 'cost' +

I just phoned one in Liverpool as per the above post.

You need to have regged before Saturday this week and I was quoted

Surely dealers have more than

It looks like it's to meet end of quarter year bonus. Most dealers do this to sell the required number of cars so that they can claim big bonuses from manufacturer. hence why we get pre-registered cars.

They will still profit greatly even if they sell at cost as the bonus makes up for the lack of front end profit!

Best time usually to buy are end of Mar, Jun, Sep & Dec!

itsnt the cost price like....err say a

Heh ' date=' not a chance.

All electric in Halesowen were doing this recently and a metallic painted furby VRS was 11600 (the invoice was sat on the dash to prove this)[/quote']

If there not selling at cost Plus

I meant not a chance of the cost price being 9k on a VRS.

The invoice showed that they were selling it for what they had been billed by skoda.

The margin on a furby VRS was pretty poor but it was more on the higher specced cars.

Yep I understand what your saying but if Skoda are supporting this offer they might be billing dealers for say...........

THere is NO WAY that a dealer would sell a vRS for this price

I beg to differ mate - seen it with my own :eyepop:

Also the guy on the fone today told me it was Skoda supported.

The two things I'd have to ask is:

1. As a car salesman, can his word be trusted. ;)

2. What exactly does he mean by "supported".

As far as I was aware, dealers being independent from Skoda itself, they buy the cars from Skoda. They then sell these cars on to the public...the difference between cost price (ie. the price the dealer buys the car from Skoda for) and RRP is their markup.

However, Skoda themselves will be making money on the sale of the car to the dealer - it's from this markup that commission schemes are funded for dealers who shift a certain volume.

Therefore, there's absolutely nothing Trading Strandards would be interested in, as dealers are more than likely telling the truth. It's quite feasible the dealership themselves is only making

Horners were advertising in the Manchester Eveneing News at the weekend deals on Fabia's, not sure of the exact price but a vRS was in the order of from

In most case the dealer margin is only 8% but the receive a quartely bonus of
