Polo GTI some details

Featured Replies

Saw a new Polo in the flesh at Arnold's the other day (not a GTi) - very noticeably bigger than the 6R / 6C.

Hi all   Gave the Polo a quick single wash yesterday - don't want to do too much work as I have the car being detailed next week and want to leave the paintwork as untreated as possible until then.

Mate, when your previous car was a 60bhp Citigo, believe me the Polo GTI is "blistering"

New Polo GTI model configurator http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/new/polo-nf/configure

So yesterday ,whilst picking up my latest addition to my car family, Up!GTI and chatting to my excellent sales lady, that the order book on the current Polo GTI is full up. Well that's 40weeks plus ,so that's two new model launched by since the start of 2018 is not bad going.

On the negative side why didn't VW get the Marketing more accurate for their production teams, as the next thing very frustrated Customers will be walking away and getting ,potentially the competitors new car on the block if it is comparable or better.

Come on VW get your production act together very soon or it will be a missed opportunity.

Hi all, tomorrow I am putting down a deposit on the Polo GTi Plus which sadly means my beloved vRS will be going :-(

The new car is a stock ordered car due to arrive end of July and has a few extras fitted.... sunroof, dual zone climate and the winter pack, I'm really excited but sad to lose the vRS, they have offered me £6k for it with 42k miles on which will be adjusted when the new car arrives, hopefully not too much!!

I am also buying an R-Line in Reef blue in 115ps form with winter pack, dual zone climate and Bonneville wheels, also a stock ordered car arriving at the same time hopefully.

They are week 21 build but shipping is longer because they are built in South Africa.

If anyone has any experience of the new Polo I would love to hear about them, I have only had a test drive of a 95ps SE but that was nice to drive.

Look forward to hearing from you :-)

Lucky you,as the dealers tell me that the New Polo GTI is on, very nearly, a year delivery lead-time.

Yes indeed, I was told about Carwow so I did some digging and got some offers back for an R-Line to replace my manual car. My local VW dealer said 20 weeks for that or they had a Reef Blue one with some add-ons already on order, so I said I'd have that.

I had no intention of replacing my vRS but I then wondered how much it would be worth and contacted my Skoda dealer, he said top whack with adjusted mileage was £6k so I did another Carwow on the GTi, went to my local dealer who I had bought an A1 from in November 2014 and put it to them. He told me it was at least a 38 week wait for one but they had a GTiPlus in white on order that was due end of July so I have been debating what to do, I have finally decided!!

Sad to see the vRS go, really sad, but I hope the new cars will help me forget that.

Edit: Forgot to add, the salesperson was slapped on the wrist for doing the deal on the GTiPlus because they are in demand, his manager was not impressed!

VFM better offering, generally  is it the  bigger brother/sister or the smaller offering?

It really does have a high spec on it considering it it thought of as the "lesser" car then a Golf, appears great value for the money

Hi

I'm considering a used polo GTi, something like a 16/17 plate

I've grown quite accustomed to the satnav in my Monte tech and noticed most of the gti's don't have it

I can't get on with it on my phone,so how hard is it to get one put in a GTi, something like Amundsen etc

Is it expensive and do you lose any functions on the steering wheel?

Thank you Thomas.

Comparison , reviews by Thomas

Is it just me that hates the wheel design of most modern hot/warm hatchbacks? I love the simplicity of the ATC Cup or the classic style of the BBS RS that was fitted to Mk2 Golf GTIs (and in a sensible size that preserved ride comfort). Modern wheels seem so fussy in comparison.

Maybe I'm getting old ...

My cars are now built and "in transit" from South Africa, hopefully only about 6 weeks until I get my hands on them now!
