Remove Tailgate Skoda Badge

Featured Replies

Before I elaborate, I love my new car, I'm not ashamed to drive or own it and I chose this over the 2013 Honda Civic that I had before it.

Has anyone removed the tailgate Skoda badge on their Rapid?

I like to make slight modifications to my cars to make them look a bit different. I'm going to be removing the other badges either side of the Skoda badge but was wondering about the Skoda badge itself.

I had thought about this which goes over the existing badge

Or remove it completely and replace it with something like this

I can't work out if the badge is recessed like the Octavia in which case the second option wouldn't work

I like the chrome R but don't know how it would look on my candy white Rapid. It's funny but nearly every other picture shows the products on the white Rapid on the Superskoda website apart from this badge.

If I knew where the holes behind the badge were then I could figure out what to put in it's place but I don't want to leave two holes there to let in water while i decide

I've had a closer look this morning and it looks like the badge is recessed so it's either the first option or find something with the same diameter.

It's like the Octavia for fitment. It has 2 pins on the rear.

If I took mine off I wouldn't be able to get in the boot. :peek:

A-ha! Yes you would with the remote control bootlid! - see a thread of mine from 2 months back.

Mind it you would look cr*p with that big Seat badge missing ;)

 What? - a Transformers head???

What's that about?  a workmate has it on a Fab vRS

I don't see anything wrong with it. Just like someone might want to add stripes, a personal plate or a bodykit on theirs. Doesn't improve the value or the driveability of the car but it personalises it and sets it apart from the others

It's a transformers head :moon:

??????

I guess you''re a little younger than the average Rapid owner :)

Transformers badges on cars serve only to perpetuate the myth that Michael Bay's Transformers movies are good.

They are not good!

Chris!!! How could you! One of the reasons I bought my Fabia is because he was yellow with black stripes so looked like Bumblebee. Granted he wasn't a Camaro. ;) autobots, roll out! Haha

Spyder I must dispel the myth Rapids are just for older gentlemen. I'm a 26yr old woman. :P

Yeah and I'm only 48 haha :)

53 with a personal plate :notme:

I'm 39 but still feel about 21

I had my Skoda Rapid 136 when I was 19. Lots of fun

I had kind of guessed that from your avatar pic :)

Although they do not always show the truth - e.g. I am not really an orange arachnid.

According to some, I must be old I bought a Toledo.

They are correct. :notme:

I'm 37 - I am aware that the beard, shirt & tie, and BBC studio backdrop make me look older.

Latin readers have probably understood already that I am Old & Slow...

48 Years old... refuse to behave anything older than a 30 year old... but creak like a 60 year old (probably because of the previous statement)... so where do I fit in in the Skoda owners table?

And with reference to the 'Transformers' badge... I'm afraid I'll have to side with certain other posters on this thread... as Cartman would say... "Lame"...

Is it trying to be "Transformers, Audi in disguise"

Helping the cause 20 years old and 19 when I bought the rapid

Cool, I have a youth-oriented vehicle with extra youthful branding :D

You do nearly all drive the Sport or Spaceback though and it they look a lot better IMO

On little 15/16 inch wheels both the Rapid hatchback and Toledo have an air of Rover 400 I find, along with the associated Trilby, stringback gloves, tweeds, and a little old lady in the passenger seat

A bit like round my area. Everybody who drives a Skoda here has white hair [emoji57]
