(micro oops) SD cards - not bought one in ages

Featured Replies

Samsung ultimate (class 10) are good cards. Had a 32gb card which I'll be reusing when I get a dashcam.

Iirc has a lifetime warranty

It's fine to buy off ebay but the first thing I'd do is run h2testw on the SD card to make sure it has the advertised capacity and is able to write at the correct speed.

A google should take you to the creators website, however it isnt in English. It is available at any number of trusted freeware sites.

Be aware that it takes a long time to test a card - and faults wont start to show for quite some time into the test - unless it is a completely dodgy card; I had one 64GB card with an actual usable space of 63MB !!

Is softpedia .com trusted, as I have never used the site before?.

I have used it without issue, but I always run a malware scan anyway, ANYONE can be hacked, I seem to remember that even the BBC were doling out malware for a few hours earlier this year.

No problem, I scan everything I download anyway. Thanks for the help.

I tend to just buy sd's from the supermarket now. Less chance of getting a fake, decent brands, and only a couple of quid more than arsing about online.

Really?

The was a third off SanDisk card in tesco when I went on earlier this week. £10 for a 32 gig class 10 micro did me nicely.

Well, mine arrived and all working fine.  32Gb in the GoPro and 16gb in to my phone.  Hopefully I can move some apps on to it soon.

Really?

Yew, I seem to remember it was a poisoned hyperlink; not sure if it was news.co.uk or news.com (the international version).

Which reminds me, usually when I visit from outside the UK, I get the International version, but so far it has been letting me view the UK version - only the BBC Home page has been international (so full of adverts).
