Hello all,

 

My handbrake light on the dashboard started blinking the other day when the handbrake was on. The light then started to fade and went off completely. 

yesterday, it blinked back into life and stayed on while parked. However, as of this morning it does not turn on when the handbrake is on. the brake itself seems to work fine. 

 

Any ideas.

The handbrake light doubles up as a low brake fluid light. Check your fluid.

I think the switch at the base of the handbrake lever must be playing up/ failing. (Or one of the wires going to it is busted).

Yes, reading the post again, your suggestion seems much more likely.
