Audi RS3 2015 -Anticipate some detail on price and spec soon. Delivery due mid 2015

Featured Replies

I tried it in Comfort and Dynamic.

Both softer than I expected.

Very comfty and still rather comfy.

Was there a sport setting on the suspension options?

Think I've answered my own question.

Just read the brochure. Options are -

Auto, Comfort, Dynamic & individual setting.

I always thought dynamic was the setting where the car monitored the road conditions and adjusted the suspension to match. I'm sure the RS4 I borrowed had an actual sports setting & it was as hard as a rock, too hard in fact :D

  • Well I've finally collected my RS3.   So I thought I would share my initial thoughts and photos:-           Two RSs together:-   The car is really easy to drive as I was so nervous d

  • Not sure an M2 is ideal for the commute.  Or loading the family in. Also the 1 series can't have adaptive cruise, so not sure about the 2. Wanted something a bit more sensible as I have a quick week

  • Nah, leave him be, the 7R forums will eat him alive, at least here we know where he is and it beats care in the community

Audi have made dynamic mode a bit soft on the RS3, just like on the S3.

Maybe the cars with regular suspension are less forgiving?

Will they sell you one for around the £38,000 mentioned in your post #360 ?

EDIT. sorry.

I'll let you know, I'll be in there next week.

If it's anything like the adaptive system on BMWs then the standard suspension will be pitched half-way between comfort and sport/dynamic possibly.

Low cost alternative? No warranty - worth it?

I have heard that some of the first batch of demo cars have had all test drives cancelled until further notice.

Seemingly there is an alert on a batch of oil used on these demo cars - or something like that?!?

Unsure how true it is - but both Bradford and Harrogate Demo cars have been grounded, until Audi resolve the issue.

They won't say they're is a fault with the actual cars ;)

Yes it is true but my source tells me that it is a precautionary measure ,but he is sworn to being tight lipped- or he will be shot!!

Interesting - I heard it from a friend of a friend - so couldn't name my source... even if threatened!

Let's see if it is a real issue or not....

If there is a Snagging Fault and they have to halt giving Demonstrators out and Recall any Delivered,

its no different from what recently happened with the Suzuki Celerio.

*Slight difference in the £30,000 plus etc on the Hyper Hatch, but you get the idea.*

Real Drivers start driving them not just Factory Road Testers and issues and faults appear,

maybe very minor,

often faults or issues on Right Hand Drive cars that never showed from hundred of thousands of miles of testing Left Hand Drive versions.

Or where the Factory Technicians / Engineers check test cars daily / nightly and real cars are driven parked,

then another person drives, parks etc.

If there are issues, and they need some attention by Audi, then good, because often they are just sold to paying customers

and Service Campaigns come later on in the production runs.

Or there is just the usual, 'they all do that' mantra.

Got a call from my local dealer regarding my test drive tomorrow, they cancelled.

When I asked why they were a little cagey, but eventually he told me they have recalled all the demo RS3's due to oil starvation problems and cancelled all test drives until the issue has been resolved.

im sure they had issues with the last RS3 ? Shame you didnt test drive one maybe soon thou

WTF Audi! You have just finally had to admit that you screwed up the 2.0 TFSI engines which were drinking oil and now you have delayed the deliveries of one of your flags cars because of another oil problem! Get it sorted guys!!!

Whatever happened to Quality R&D and Testing lh or rh drive versions?

Egg on the Audi 5 pot face.

The Volkswagen Group and Audi build plenty of fast cars and fast engines,

so it is not like they will not sort out any issues soon enough, if there are any,

it is not like they ever build lemons or have engines or drive trains that fail in customer cars.

Well not that often.

Info i found on another forum....about the RS3 recall:-

"Recall is for the oil feed. When cold the engine is being supplied with oil as if it was up to temperature when it is not. Can cause the engine to be starved of oil."

Audi dealership staff are very guarded with comments currently.

Wonder when Motoring press will be on their case!!??

Anyone at Goodwood could just maybe ask someone at the Audi stands.

I am sure they will be more than happy to give all the gen on them.

I do like that guy's "review".

Makes me wonder if he's ever driven a quick car before.

Discovered this morning that Audi have put a recall out already! (Thought it's not that uncommon on a brand new model to be fair)

Dealer has said that the car is not to be driven!

It should be sorted in only a couple of days though. Couldn't get any more details but with that estimate it sounds like they already know the issue and it's easily solved.

Anyone able to get more details please share!

Heard today it's the oil return pipe and feeder pipe few engines already gone bang in Germany .
Guy I know works Audi has said that there demo has been grounded until it's had inspection

JoseDB, to my knowledge was the first Briskoda member to place an order for the RS3 - as you see above he is waiting delivery of his car in July.

Currently he has not commented about the issue on Briskoda yet.

The above comments come from AUDIRS3OC.com site.

Reading the above,

Audi dealership must have know on  or before the 16th June. was that prior to actual showroom launch and potential order taking? (PS. official launch day was 13th June 2015 so may be a ?)

So BossFox,did your dealer know about this problem when you went for your test drive ,when you may have placed an order that day? ( PS.17th June 2015)

Think he owns an R8

Filmed in Gloucestershire and on great country roads which I use quite regularly!

Awesome - unfortunately that post launch we have a downside for Audi

Think he owns an R8

Confused why he likes the RS3 so much then.

Unless it's the badge.
