Already put a deposit down & going to pick it up at the weekend. Just sold my R32 and I kinda of regretting buying for the money paid for so I am wondering if this one is right for 6k?

It is pretty much a minter, 2 owners, however car comes with only one key & they won't budge on the price..

Looks a good price for one in good condition, for future reference if you ever need any paint it isn't Electra Blue it's actually Race Blue

I was looking at that earlier, if it really is as tidy as it looks then I'd have offered 5k but that's just me.

Cheers, yeah it is a minter, however pictures do lie, company do seem reputable though.

I'd be over the moon to pay 5k for it, the thing is they won't budge on price, If I cancel the deposit I reckon someone would snap it up at that price.

Hmmm,,,

He's already said they won't budge on price so offering 5k will more than likely result in the seller telling you to jog on, especially being a dealer. They know these cars sell for considerably more than the non-SE Fabias so someone will snap it up.

As for if it's worth it, that's down to personal preference. You're essentially paying for the blue paint, leather seats and the exclusivity of a limited edition. They do command more money than sense sometimes but I don't think this example is badly priced given the condition and mileage. I've seen some dealers trying to get well over £6k for them in the past few months.

If you wanted to spend less you could have a look at some non-SE Fabia vRS. Probably get a very good one for around the £4000 mark and it is essentially the same car underneath.

I just paid £5500 for a 56k 1 owner car that has fsh but needs the alloys refurbed.

Mine was prob a £5k car but they are hard to get in Scotland, so it was the best car available,

I would have paid the £6k for yours as it looks mint and should need no spends.

Plus it's just had the cambelt done AND you have the peace of mind that if the engine falls out on the way home the dealers are liable.

It's not a cheap car, but if it's in good condition, not registered as having been in an accident and drives fine then I think the price isn't far off what it should be in my opinion.

Shame about the one key though.

I think that's £100+ if you want a spare. That should be included.

Maybe worth the OP seeing what price ActionMan39 can do iirc it was about £80 when I wanted and just helps with piece of mind if you lock the key in the car which can easily be done on a Fabia if one microswitch acts up

Hasn't that SE been posted a few times before? I just seen to remember the blue spoke on the black wheels...

Really? :o you've made me a bit paranoid now.

Nah the blue spoke was a full u of spoke not just 1 spoke. On the car I remember being posted about a while ago

Sorry, I was worried I might when posting but best find out now!

I don't recall it being bad at all, just modified iirc.

Is it not similar to the one that posh rich kid bought who put an extra 50bhp on every time he wrote about it....

Don't think so, that one was on air at the time of something

Personally I'd look for a non le version in the same condition and save a wedge of cash.

£6000 for a non standard car is taking the ****.

Similar price though for a 2007 standard VRS with low mileage.

Not a bad price, paid a fair bit more for mine last year with 10k less miles and from a main dealer.

Just as mint as yours, mind you it still is ;)

I'd push for a new key if paying full price.

Warranty? Free servicing? Anything else?

It's patently NOT worth £6000, but it's where the market is at the moment, so if you REALLY want a Race Blue Fabia Mk I with black leather seats and a CD changer then why not?

My query is always what is the pattern of services on these low mileage cars. That car is 7 years old, and has done under 10,000 miles per year. It says it had the cambelt changed 3000 miles back, but WHEN was that exactly?

I genuinely do not understand this fetish for low mileage cars. Are you hoping it won't need a new set of brakes or a complete suspension system or catalytic convertor? All of these continue to rot when a car is parked up.

There are several threads recently where people have bought low mileage old cars and then been shocked that they have needed hundreds of pounds spent on them to make them reliable. Caveat emptor.

Agreed ^ I always try to stress this point that mileage isn't that big of an issue, especially on these. How it's been looked after and the service history is far more important. I'd buy a 100k one with detailed service history over a 50k one with not much detail personally!

I wouldn't want to worry anyone, but if you type the registration number into Google then it brings up a cached page from the 10th December 2014 where the SAME car is pictured at a dealer in Northants for £7295 with silver wheels and only 48,000 miles on the clock. It definitely looks to be the same car as it has wind deflectors on the windows.

So something's amiss somewhere.

Good point hmm..

Thanks for that, I just contacted that company in question, they said that basically they are updating the website and for some reason it's put a load of all stuff back on there.

that car was sold ages ago they said.

I like the car but I just feel a bit tight with my money now after spending 12,000 on an r32 with mods which I took off, I kinda broke even but it has kind of scarred me imo!

6K... I heard skoda are not realeasing a vrs for a while. If I were to buy it, could I get atleast 5k for in in 2 - 3 years time with say 75-80k on clock lool? Or is it how long is piece of string kind of question? :(

Having had a look on ebay it seems they are holding their value well and If I was to sell now I would probably get same as I paid two+ years ago.

So could be a good investment although a standard car would hold its value better.

Hmm yeah, what is not standard about it apart from the wheels and win deflectors?

Exactly the wheels being black make it non standard.

I'm not saying it doesn't look good/better than standard but in time standard will carry more value.

Yeah know what you mean..

Might just get it, if i can get 4.5k - 5k in 2 - 3 years time i'd be happy, Id have everything put back to standard ofcourse when I sell. My only mods I think will be a remap and get the sterring wheel done in suede alacantara.

Going to catch a coach out from birmingham to sheff tommorrow, look at it, see what it's like and take it from there, would be good if I could get it down to 5600.

So all of them come with a 6cd changer? Where would plug vagcom in to check car out?

Another question is, is it possible to put a decent headunit that has built in satnav, aux, sd card? There doesn't seem much spare in there and if anything a fit will make that area look **** I think.

The OBD port is behind the cubby by the driver's right knee. You need to give it a hefty tug to pull it out.

The standard stereo is 1.2DIN tall. The cubby underneath is 1 DIN tall. You can easily put a double DIN HU in there. You just pull out the cubby under the standard HU and buy a £4 trim from Skoda to match the dash that fills the 0.2DIN originally filled by the standard HU.

Fitting kits are available for all the major aftermarket brands.
