New hatch order pending - last minute advice reg for Elegance 170 Manual

Featured Replies

Hi I am on the verge of placing my order for a new Superb.

I prefer the shape of the hatch to the estate although local dealer is trying to talk me into getting the estate (not sure why).

I have decided to get the 170 over the 140 (again to the salesmans digust) telling me that the 140 is fast enough for me - like he knows!

I know I want the ivory leather interior but am unsure of the exterior colour.

the only exterior I like is the Moon white.

Sheep herd mentality tells me that white and ivory is a no no, and I should have petrol blue/ Rosso Brunello (too dark for me) or Cappucinno (too boring for me)

So I am back to Moon White and Ivory, and have been googling trying to find the combination - no joy - any links/pics appreciated....

The only examples I can find is rolls royce/ porsche/ Bentley

Maybe I just need to be brave and go with Moon White and Ivory??

I know it might look like a wedding car, now theres a thought......

There's a reason you haven't come across any pics - ivory and white is not ideal and in fact is not really recommended.  The best colour combinations (visually) are usually a dark exterior and lighter interior shade but at the end of the day it is personal and subjective of course.  I did have rosso and ivory before and I thought it looked very classy.

One thing to consider is possibly resale values with white/ivory?  Have you considered silver - I have seen a silver exterior and ivory interior and I think it just about works.

1. Have a look about half way down this page, not ideal pictures but it's a white hatch with ivory interior (although pre FL). I think it look fine in those colours.

Another picture further down the same page as well.

2. This one is the FL model, white and ivory, scroll through the pages for interior and exterior pictures. As with the previous pictures I like the colour combination.

*Note the wood on the dash is a cost option in the UK. The wheels on the second link look like 16 inch to suit their Indian roads (same as UK Greenline wheels), different wheels for the UK market.

Sounds like the dealer might have a Superb Estate 140 they need to move, ignore them and order what you want.

I think white and Ivory will look great, but the Ivory really would look fantastic with black paintwork.

Not sure on White with almost White interior, sounds a bit much to me... I have a MY2015 Superb in Cappuccino with the brown L & K trim, I think it looks good together.. The brown is nothing like the pictures you see, it is much darker ;)

Colour is a personal choice, I always liked white until I purchased my SEAT Ibiza which does 25000 miles a year, pain in the backside to keep clean... I also had 2 black Leon's. like white look fantastic clean :)

One thing to remember, If you want a Superb now is the time to get one, the new model is due mid-year, dealers will need to move all the old style, which is a fantastic car, so you should be in a good position to negotiate a good deal ;)

As others have mentioned,  looking at the pictures the new Superb looks a beautiful car, and I will be looking to get one if it is as good as the pictures, but leave it for 12 months or so for Skoda to find the faults in "real life" if any first, then I shall be buying ;)

There's a video here of a white hatch with ivory interior, walk around from about 8.08 minutes onwards so you can see the white paintwork and ivory through the windows, although the car in the video has sunset glass.

I've got the Rosso red with the ivory leather interior and I really like it, but it is your own personal preference. You are paying for a new car, so have the one that pleases you the most. It will certainly be unusual and stand out from the crowd

Have you thought about Amythyst Purple, I think it works well with Ivory interior.

Ditto, pretty much word for word. Loving my new Rosso/Ivory combi. However, there are no "rules" when it comes to your own car, if you like Moon/Ivory then go for it.

Cuppachino is the one you want, nice light brown colour with whatever leather, black looks best imo with a black leather, silver/black is also a good combo, if I had white the only lether would be black hth

IMHO, Ivory interior don't look good with black carpet or go with white extorior at all.  You asked.......

Just to confuse you further :D  here's my vote, and my Amethyst Purple with Ivory interior;

Fantastic response, thanks bro's

I think I might have to go for an estate, even though I love the shape of the hatch as it reminds me very much of my old beloved BWM 750il, when I saw the rear leg room and beige leather and C pillar.

I will go for the estate as I have roof bars and roof box already so that will save me a few quid buying a bar set for the hatch and fitting them is easier on roof bars. its only £200 more for the estate on my PCP.

I have had loads of estates over the years, Merc e240, Volvos, 240, 940, 960, 740, v70xc, which is why i am bored of estates, BUT they are great so I will probably gor for a white or capp 140 with beige interior.

I like the purple BUT it so reminds me of my purlple X-lite bar ends that I brought in 1993 and still have in my shed today, I guess purple is just to 1990's for me in 2015, I even have a purple pace racing cycling jersey, that i will never wear again, certainly not on my orange Santa Cruz Helckler, and defo not on a summer ski lift in morzine!
