  • Update, rns unit is fitted! Massive thanks to Eddie who ended up fitting more than originally intended and also fixed my xenon washers (fuse blown). The original plan was to fit the rns and MDI unit

  • Haven't updated this in a while. Done a few things to the golf since last update. Sailed through its Mot with no advisories. Sent the car to my mates body shop for some repairs, wing sprayed, deep bon

Lovely car, I may have to have a butchers when I'm in town next and you're about,

Thanks! Yeah no worries let me know :)

Been waiting for this thread B)

Looks very smart and much cheaper to insure than I thought. I guess very reasonable rates living where you do :)

Cheers Jay, yeh very cheap where I live luckily lol post code lottery in my favour ;)

Would cost me a pretty penny here in Bristol despite being 34, clean licence, no claims garage etc :(

As I mentioned before Dan, car looks lovely, my friend has the shape before yours in the lovely blue colour.

Have to have a nose sometime :)

Cheers Lee, I really wanted one in blue but couldn't find one in manual for the life of me lol

It's mad how much of a difference post codes can make to your insurance quote. I didn't think Bristol was bad! My girlfriend was from Bristol originally, cleavedon I think the place is called .

Midlands meet outside Dans garage? :D

Yup, Clevedon. If I lived there it would be more like yours, but even with keeping in the same BS7 postcode and moving 1/4 up the road, the insurance for my vRS went up by £300!!!

I will be moving out of the City once we're in a poisition to change our mortgage to buy-to-let and buy another house. Fed up with being raped in insurance and still only allowed to drive at 20 through a lot of the City :(

Get a milltek on it :)

Get a milltek on it :)

I have been looking at milltek exhaust system for it. The non res seems to have mixed reviews , people saying its too droney and you can't hear the v6 engine. People seem to prefer the resonated version but it isn't that far off standard noise apparently. I suppose I would need to hear it in real life for a true conclusion!

I really like these......there is a 2008 one with 17k from new on the clock in black at a garage near harrogate,it looks ace but they want £17k for it  :o They always sell every R32 they get in stock though.

What I said Jase as soon as I knew he had one :) get it done Dan ;)

Ooooooo 17k that's a lot! 17 thou miles is very low though never seen one that low around! Now is a good time to buy with fuel being cheap ha

I am very tempted to Lee! My local tuning garage is a Milltek exhaust dealer I might have to get a quote lol

Very nice shame you're not nearer I'd detail it for you . Mines cheap to insure too £245 fully comp , did the precise owner have bleach on their fingers! Never seen window switches worn like that . I replaced all mine and folding mirrors one to latest model ones with the chrome edging . I could not get a Miltek or any other manufacturer for that matter as none does aftermarket for the R36 . So I had a custom one made and with a pair of miltek tips , sounds awesome . I originally took the suitcase off and soused nascar but was droney at 3k revs . Now is best of both worlds

Thanks for the offer I wish you was nearer ! It needs a good going over with a DA polisher . I have no idea how they got that bad, I have read you can fit the mk6 golf ones but I had already fitted these standard ones :( I am really tempted by milltek resonated cat back , a lot of people are tempting me lol. I love the look of those r36 there is one going round my way

Very nice car there mate. I think Alan (blueR36) covered most of it above!

....Get a Milltek fitted.... job done!

Resonated or non resonated hmmmm lol

Resonated

Only want the noise when your giving it some. Non resonated would drone too much

I had a bastuck cat back on my old lupo gti. Sounded pretty much stock when daily driving. But open up the taps and gave just enough roar so as it was just right. Thats what you want

If i hadnt decided to move house i would have been very tempted sadly no money left for a car change so the octy is going to have to last a good few years yet.   :D

Very nice. Always like the R32.

Is it a manual or DSG?

Nice spec too. I assume it some with xenon lights and auto lights/wipers?

It's manual which is what I wanted :) not a fan of dsg . Yeh xenon lights auto wipers and lights. I really do want a different stereo or wish it had the multimedia pack with iPod connection :(

Just get an RNS 510 and be done with it!

Really finishes off the interior especially with the highline display too so you will get integration with that.
