Today I've been cleaning up and polishing all the chrome, removed the standard air intake duct, removed the inter cooler spray system as I'm going to run a cold air feed from the lower grill, replaced the hks filter in the induction kit with a new insert but blue to match the colour theme, some pics

Couple of little changes, had a rear wiper blank made as the holes huge on the evo for a normal rubber blank had a 41mm piece of ally made up, also brought some gear linkage end solid bushes, just like the mk4 golf bushes were the do the Uprated ones to do away with the standard rubber ones, got a new gear knob too solid brass very heavy and looks great, gear change was not bad but these won't hurt. One of the rubber bushes was starting to crack up too so was lucky I was replacing them, some pics

Fitted some rear speakers today, just some vibe ones to replace the factory ones, sound deadened all the boot, and under back seats, and took some crappy pics lol

Much better

What sound deadening did you use mate? I think dynamat is great stuff just bloody expensive, even off eBay.

Got some 6mm closed cell foam, mixed with vibes equivilant to dynamat, as the foam obviously isn't stickable, I just did foam under rear foot wells, rear seat underneath and back, spare wheel well, and used the dynamat type stuff on the rear turrets the metal behind back seats and a few other spots, foam stuff is mega light too, you could use a spray glue to stick it all down

Yes the vibe stuff is good too, I've got a halfords discount card and bought some to replace the foam under my engine cover. It's worked a treat!

That's a good idea with how you've done it, sounds much more cost effective.

Car looks brilliant by the way. Nobody makes road going rally cars quite like mitsubishi that's for sure.

Cheers bud yeah was only £40 for a massive reel of foam 2m x 1m, doesn't even weigh 1kg, really didn't want to spent £100 plus and add loads of kg's too, make sure you get closed cell foam as it doesn't absorb moisture too

Yeah can see where your coming from mate, I've always thought evo's are under powered, last thing you want to do is slow it down with sound deadening! Lol ;-) :-D

Looks great :)

There is only 1 problem to having a nice metal knob. It gets bloomin cold in winter :D

I like :D

Air con and grubbins out today, always hated the aircon pipes that run along the left of the engine bay, looked so untidy.

Took my decat off too as I'm getting a sports cat, good job as the baffle inside was loose and rattles, should lose me a few extra decibels to make it more track friendly too :)
