Bolero Parking sensor display

Featured Replies

I have upgraded my system to a bolero in a 2008 Octavia vrs estate

in my oold one the parking sensor used to show up

but not is this one

is it possible to get it to show up on the screen

thanks

I have a similar issue. My 09 estate has a Bolero (I believe fitted from new - L&K)

It displays the rear of the car and indicates if there are obstructions - normally.

However, if I have had the radio on or played CD etc. it then fails to show the rear sensor screen, even if the radio is switched off.

To get the display back I have to turn the ignition off and then on again and it works fine; obviously without the radio on.

This won't work unless you change the entire parking sensor system (or at least the wiring and sensors) to one from a FL. Just one of those things.

Its actually the controller (and some minor wiring) and not the sensors but you are broadly correct, and as you say its not unexpected.

Agree with Adam. A few wiring changes and a new controller will allow the older sensors to communicate with newer headunits.

Or a Polar FIS+ will bring it back... you need maxidot for this option.

Knew it was summat like that. Whatever it is, I've heard it's a bit of a pig just to get the display back... hence why I can't be @rsed. :)

Nah it's plug and play.

OPS displays perfectly on my Columbus with my original PDC system.

which controller and which wiring needs changing is there any guides?

thanks

Off the top of my head I can't recall exactly (Adam probably can); but if you search the Octavia Mk2 forum you'll find the answers in there.

Probably wrong, but got a funny feeling for some reason that doing it on a bolero is a fair bit of work, bit of a faff. Someone fairly good at that stuff on here did it and posted that they're not sure they'd do it again.

Ooops. Sorry I think I confused the conversation a bit there.

My plug and play comment referred to the polar FIS+ not fitting the new OPS controller etc.

hmm might give it a miss or maybe in summer

I would say do it.

@Mike: You really don't realise how useful the newer type display is for checking actual distance to spare until you have it. Granted with a camera it is less useful though!
