2011 VRS Question

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I am currently looking to purchase a 2011 VRS and have a couple of question that may be noobish so apologies in advance.

I am in Rep. of Ireland but will be purchasing in Northern Ireland.

Question 1) Does all the 2011's come with the 'Parking Assistance' feature, i see some ads mention this feature and some dont mention it at all.

Question 2) Most 2011's seem to have the 'Cruise Control' controls located on a steering column stalk but i have seen a few with the controls on the steering wheel itself, is there a specific 2011 model with them on the steering wheel.

Any info appreciated, Thank you

Sorry, forgot to mention i am looking into getting a 2.0 TDI variant

Hi Fuzzy, in answer to your questions:-

1) No parking sensors are not standard, there are lots of ex-fleet VRS around of that age without them, mine being one :)

2) Don't think the VRS has controls on steering wheel, all on stalk as far as I'm aware.

Hope this helps, cheers.

Thanks Sheriff for the info, greatly appreciate.

Would anyone happen to know the timing belt changing interval?

Hi again, on the 2011 model it's 180,000 kms which is 112,500 miles in old money or 5 years. Just had mine changed on mileage. Good luck with your search.

Thanks again for your help sheriff.

One more question :)

Are all 2011 2.0L TDI VRS's with DPF?

I hear/read lots of bad stories about DPF and short journeys.

Hi again Fuzzy, all diesel VRS have DPF whether PD or CR engines, but as far as I'm aware the CR was designed to run a DPF so should have less problems than PD's have.
