DIY Sump Guard/Skid Plate

Featured Replies

Hi, new member to these forums.

I was wondering has anyone out there made up a sump guard for the mk2 pre fl or has anyone any info about making one up.

I was trying to figure could i just bolt up some aluminium to where the plastic undertray is or would this work?

Any info is appreciated!

I would have though you could fit the steel sump guard from a Scout in place of your plastic under tray

Ah not too bad, are they standard on all scouts? As in if I went to a wreckers, they should probably have it if it was there?

Thanks! :D

Steel sump guard was standard on prefl scout, I think fl went to a reinforced plastic version

Thanks a lot man, might have saved me a lot of effort.

My 2008 scout certainly has a steel sump guard as I have to use a hydraulic jack to lower it when changing the oil
