The pug driver is uninsured, but was pulling out from between two shops and parked cars as i passed

I think it wont even make cat c.

I would say with damage like that it wont be allowed back on the road

That, my friend is a Norwegian Blue.

Time to start looking for a new car.

A quick tip from when my brother's Mrs had her golf written off. Take the tact of "you can assess it here if you want, but it's not off anywhere til it's paid for "

But yeah, sadly, that's dead.

Never a good thing to see. Hope they pay you out enough.

Fancy selling me the back seat? Need a third middle headrest!!

Shouldnt be let back on the road with that damage, hope you get a nice pay out at least :)

Hope your ok also!

Looks like there are ripples in the C pillar.

Hope the insurance doesn't end up being too much of a hassle.

Upto yet they've been fantasttic (touch wood)

I've tried to work an average out for a payout via car valuation sites but I think it's low compared to what I see for sale

63500 on 05 £3400 (average)

Id try and push for as near as 4k as they would go

and buy it back for about £600 then sell to me for £1000

All depends what category it gets graded at

C or D yes you can buy it back

But with structural damage like that it may be too far gone

Might be a cat B writeoff

My advice is go on autotrader and find a few similar cars for sale. Present this as evidence of the payout you need a d stick to your guns. When my mk1 Focus 'passed away' I did this and said I needed £4k. They first offered £3200, then £3700 and finally £4000. I was not being unreasonable and I was clear, consistent and stuck to my guns!

Sorry to hear that some inconsiderate dingbat drove out into you and to top it off, not insured, so you have lost your pride and joy over their "can't put up on here", so what would happen if they knocked over a pedestrian and killed them. Chuck the book at him the Feds should do. Hope you get it sorted quickly and no hastle.

If they knocked over a pedestrian and killed them, the pedestrian would be just as dead either way.

I'm not defending being uninsured, obviously, but there are some things insurance can't fix and that's one of them.

Yes true, but my point is they shouldn't have been on the road driving, plain and simple.

I got £4240 from them was originally £3990

Insurance do not offer buy back option

So currently looking for a new car

Looking for something equally bomb proof or something fragile but agile?

Hint: Go the bomb proof route for a daily driver. :) One Citroen AX GT accident was enough for me. There's always one more lunatic/idiot/rushed person .... etc. etc....
