Faulty AC compressor in a brand new O3

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

A new member here from Egypt.

Just got my new A7 1.6MPI petrol 3 days ago "yes that's the sad engine they offer in my country along with a 6 speed A/T gearbox.

Anyways, just after 750KM I started hearing a weird humming noise that goes on with a fixed rhythm, some sort of a belt non conformity sound. Took it to the agent and the result is a faulty AC compressor.

They sent an email to Skoda in Czech Republic as it's not a common problem therefore they don't have the authority to change it without an approval.

Is it ok to accept this as replacing the car can be considered as a dream here in Egypt?!

Thanks in advance guys.

Cheers!!

Thats pretty terrible but sadly these things happen

You are not alone. I had the compressor replaced at 1000 kms. They replaced it straight away without any questions.

Sak,

I hope they do the same for me. You had the same noise I explained in my first post?!

Sadly new problems appeared, the 2 front windows do some strange noise while going down, but go up smoothly.

Strange & extremely annoying. I'm afraid I'm gonna hate it before even using it.

They'll replace the compressor today.

I'm sorry that you're still hearing some noises.

Hopefully they'll go away with time.

They also told me the window noise was just dirt making this noise.

They'll try to clean it & hopefully it'll wt better.

Hope so. Let us know how it is when you get your car back.

They changed the compressor and cleaned the windows.

So far so good..

If I get any news I'll keep you guys updated.

Thanks for the update. I have done 5000 kms since the replacement. It is going good. Yours would be good too. Enjoy your car.
