Starting issue, very stressful!

Featured Replies

Hi where do I start, I bought a mk1 fabia all was well had a few little issues to fix and sorted. The issue is every morning when I start it it just about starts. I put the question on the forum, and people suggested battery ect.

I found the wire broken by the alternator which was previously repaired and put the wrong way, I had no battery light so I fixed that and now have a battery light, I had the alternator removed and tested and that's perfect and i bought a new battery aswell.

I also notice when I leave it parked up and then after work I start it i see the lights in the millage clock flicker lightly.......

I currently have the steering light on aswell but that a sensor!

I also get the fault code 01958 drive battery Voltage signal too low intermittent

Cheers adam

Sounds like a bad earth somewhere, did you fully charge the battery after repairing the alternator load sense wire?

How do you mean had no battery light?

i got a angle sensor £30 posted genuine part as for lights flickering could be loose earth or battery terminals not tight

He means the battery light didn't come on with the ignition switched on like it should. It's a sign of the common problem of broken load sensing wires.

Did not know that, I'm going to check this next time i'm out now.
