Porsche buys VW-VW to sell Seat

Featured Replies

Porsche bit true, although its a 20% stake(still a fortune to invest!).Mmm .Octavia Carrera RS though

Seat bit apparantly a rumour now quashed by VW (no smoke without fire???).Started due to chronic (well, luke warm) sales of the van type people thing replacing the Leon.

I'd sell Seat just for putting the ugly Altea on the road :D

I think i would deny all knowledge too - what were they thinking !?!?

I think the leon is a gorgeous looking car. I know i would chose one of those over anything else based on that platform.

i know i will get shout down in flames but hey i drive an audi ;)

i actually think the altea looks ok :)

I think the Altea looks ok in the flesh. Only seen the Leon on photo's but think it looks really good.

The leon looks nice.

The altea is ok but not great.

The toledo is hideous.

The front ends of all the new SEATs look the same to me.

:iagree:

I think I like the leon too, better looking than the golf

But how many have you seen on the roads? not seen that many and i do over 1500m a week.

not seen one yet and id expect them, where i live everyone changing for the newest car every 5mins round here.

i do over 1500m a week.

ame here mate, in fact i work over a mile away

:D

;)

I do over 1500 metres a week too!

Will there be a new Leon Cupra anyone?

yes, thats the range topper, abov the leon fr.

seen a leon in the flesh and some bits are nice but some horrible

So Porsche have bought into VW now then? Was rumoured earlier in the week as a possibility they were thinking of, at least itprotects VW independance.

As for the Sheat cars, I saw the new Toledo today in run of the mill silver. It looked total crap, and as for the rear view it looks like someone has stuck a foot pump up its backside and forgot to stop pumping.

Altea I like,

J-lo-edo is nasty with a big backside

I think the Leon looks smart myself.

Not suprised if the thoughts to sell SEAT are true as in the UK at least, it does not seem to fit in the VW group.

Skoda - Value

VW - mainstream

Audi - Premium

Seat is supposed to be the company's sporting brand in a Alfa Romeo sort of way and priced inbetween Skoda and VW, which puts it straight into Ford/Vauxhall territory and it's fighting a losing battle.

Slightly off the original topic, but following the majority of threads posted so far, are you saying that you do or don't find the (potential) new Leon Cupra appealing:

At least it is a completely new style - can't exactly say the same about the Octavia vRS. I accept that 'standard' Seat models don't always hit the spot, but you could not say the same about their sporting versions. It only takes the right colour, decent wheels and a few suptle styling bits and they seem to get it right.

Thats one of the reasons I stopped buying SEAT's the cars now look complete rubbish, and some look like renaults, the new toledo looks like the vel-satis for a start!

SEAT has lost the plot, the designer has no style at all!
