Lead time supply of a 1.6td Superb

Featured Replies

Cleared for finance, now told take a white one or wait 9 weeks......

With the Mk 3 version due to be launched any time, there must come a time when they stop making the Mk 2 so as to change over to the new model. Perhaps that is the root of what you've been quoted??

9 weeks is not bad actually. Many of us have waited 10 weeks or more. I'm assuming you are referring to a factory build?

17 weeks for my car.

Paid deposit on a 1.6td estate in white not-greenline though

Do you not want to wait for the model?

Yes, unfortunately the JIT manufacture (Just in Time) culture is catching up with us. To avoid gluts of cars parked up in fields....so depending on spec, colour, LHD or RHD you will have a wait. Lead on a LHD car here is approx two to four weeks and four times that for RHD as I understand it.

I enquired about new here in Suisse before opting for second hand - price saving massive even with all finance/leasing deals etc. taken into account. Pick it up on Friday - can't wait....

Good luck with your new purchase though - I'm sure you'll love it!

Happy (and hopefully lucrative!) motoring with the new car.  Keep us informed how you get on with it
