Dial sweep

Featured Replies

But with a stop start system and automatic starting you don't anyway, it's just illusion of control...

I don't have stop start enabled... I turned it off in vcds as I stop for 2 second intervals quite frequently driving home from work ands on and off like a yoyo

Mine does the needle sweep every time as far as I can remember but I've not stopped and restarted it in quick succession reccently so can't comment on that

I've learnt to control it pretty well with just using the break pedal during the last couple of weeks.

Mines a manual so as soon as its in neutral the engine stops

But if you stop for 2 seconds why put it in neutral?

and you have to take your foot off the clutch.

It could be two seconds it could be more stop start just annoys me constantly cutting in and out and my fuel economy hasn't changed at all since I disabled it. Just force of habbit from driving old cars with composite clutch release bearings to not hold the clutch in at all unless pulling away or changing gear...

My dials sweep everytime I turn the ignition key (even without starting the engine). I can't say how often the VRS logo shows up. I don't look at the screen that often and I wish I could have it turn oft automatically after x seconds, but unfortunately that option resets itself after each startup :(

  • 1 year later...

Bit of a thread resurrection.

Anyone got any more ideas on this.  My VRS is entirely random on the needle sweep. First start in the morning sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried turning the key all the way rapidly or pausing at the first position, neither seems to make a difference to the cars decision to do it or not.

First few times I saw this I thought 'wow', but after 11 months with the car the novelty has now faded and truth be told I've stopped noticing if it does it or not...

Turn the key a little slower when starting and the sweep happens every time. Works on my vrs at least!

Same here.
