The ones ive got are old i need new ones .... ive got meguires liquid wax, autoglym resin polish ... my pads are old so im gunna get some new one and i want some chemical guys gear aswell

Those products are All in ones and not dedicated professional products. My best one step polish is Sonax Perfect Finish. Use that with something like the Chemical Guys Hexlogic white or green pad and you'll have a tidy combination.

Use the Zenith Point method. So you spead the polish around on speed 1 or 2 on your rotary, then work it in at speed 3 or 4. Once it goes clear, like a gel, go back to speed 2 and slow the movement of the rotary right down, 1 inch per second. You will be left with a hologram free finish. Warning though, you will need to clay the paint first at least and it takes a long time to get around the car, first time round it will take you a whole day to do it properly. If you get impatient you will end up with holograms. It really isn't for the faint hearted. It takes a lot of patience indeed!!

Ultimate Dubs is coming up soon and ive booked a day of work (Friday the 13th :| ) to clean it all up before i go down! So i want to get everything i need before then to destroy my car the day before the show :D

Don't destroy it! Haha

I started out with a Silverline Rotary and it is big, heavy and difficult to control at first.

If I were to do it all again, I would start with the DA but that said, I never encountered any problems as I did my research on how to use it properly and purchased a scrap metal panel to test it on (once :giggle: ) before trying it out on my car.

Results will be quicker with the Rotary, but as already advised by the very knowledgable above it does come with big risks for a newbie and will be VERY easy to cause you further problems.

Me to, I still have my first silverline rotary but I use it for sanding since I pushed the spindle lock in with it running (when I nearly dropped it some years ago) and it removed a tooth so its noisy as hell.

I used it with some silverline soft pads that came with it and actually had really good results. Even when using G3 I never burnt a panel although I did leave some good trails on a bonnet I picked up from a scrapyard to practice on.

I still have one that I use for heavy correction as its just so much faster than my das6

Still as the others say a dual action machine is far safer and easier to use.
