  • kind of kept it secret to most of my friends but picked up my new Fabia SE L 1.2 TSI 110 today.   Not driven it much yet, but thoughts are all positive so far

  • Feels different to the last car, but that was a diesel, if I have to be critical the steering feels more artificial in the mk3, it's a lot lighter.   Suspension is a big move forward though, actuall

  • Not a bad deal for a brand new model. I expect I could've done better if I'd waited a while but life's for living.

enjoy when it arrives

did you get a good deal?

Nice, I ordered my mk3 27.01,got week 9 and delivery to Estonia on week 11-12.

Not long to wait then.

but are cars in Estonia, left or right hand drive?

as the delays seem to be right hand drive models as I assume fewer made so they only do a run now and again?

Good point, bluecar.

I ordered 27.01, bw 11. left hand side car, like Estonia

Yup, left hand. Don't know how and why got such an early build week. Could imagine that delivery is faster, because of no sea travel? But build week, don't know.

Interesting. Do we have any reports of build weeks from northern Germany or Denmark? Should be similar if our hypothesis is true

From Denmark.

I ordered a Hatch 1.2 DSG medio January, build was medio May and delivery approx. medio June.

I did not press the salesman for earlier delivery though, because I am quite satisfied with a new car to be delivered when it is summer.

?

Is it not better to have delivery of a car a few months after the launch rather than the cars they first started building and stock piling,?

and which possibly have snagging faults yet to be found by Owner / Drivers rather than the 'Special' cars that might have come off the production line for Media / Press launches, ones that maybe went through a bit better Quality Control.

If you want a first built car maybe best buy an extended warranty with it and do not just settle for a 2 or 3 year Original Warranty.

Just this month Suzuki had major issues with the Delivery of their new car, and New Buyers were lent something else.

This is an example of using second language :)

What I ment was, I do not mind that my car will be build at the factory medio May, of exactly the same reasons you mentioned.

Well, today I've got my Mk3 build week  - week 10.. and as I'm here in old Blighty.. that means right-hand drive models are being built in-between left-hand week 9 and week 11.. so it sort of blows any peoples theory out of the water..  rep at the dealers' said it'll arrive by end of March.  Apparently Skoda ramp up production in week 10, so all the earlier receivers of cars will be guinea pigs for the rest that follow.. counting down the weeks now!

I'm in Blighty too so week 11 must also be for RHD cars, if it does indeed work like that.

I ordered my new Mk3 today. Was quoted a delivery time of 10-12 weeks.

What are you getting, river?

Hi Prog,

Fabia SE 1.2 Tsi 110 DSG

Corrida Red with Light & Rain assistant and spacesaver spare (no goo for me!)

I currently have a Fabia 2 105 Elegance manual. Looking forward to the new one!

Good call on the spare wheel. Maybe I'm old just fashioned but a recent puncture was sorted quickly by changing the wheel rather than messing about with gunk. In fact, I wouldn't know what to do with that stuff.

Spare wheel is a no brainer - £85 when ordered as opposed to £150+ when you discover you need it after the inevitable puncture!

What spec is your Mk3 Prog?

SE L estate in Corrida Red with rear electric windows, heated seats, variable boot floor and spare wheel.

It replaces a Citigo Elegance which I'll definitely miss.

just a tad bigger then..

I went for a 1.4TDi SEL (105PS) hatch, pacific blue, with heated seats, sunset glass, smartgate, simply clever pack, leather sports wheel + controls, third headrest, front and rear parking sensors, electric rear windows and full size spare wheel.. I ditched the colour concept stuff and black alloys as it was an extra grand which they wouldn't haggle on.. besides every car on tv at the moment seems to be colour concept-like.. they're everywhere!

Just a bit. When I bought the Citigo, I owned a big van but that's recently been sold. The Fabia will be in between the two.
