YouTube Video on Columbus System

Featured Replies

Is there any way which I can play YouTube videos on my Columbus system. It is fitted to a 2011 Superb. I currently use a iphone 6, the car has an aux port. Anyone help?

Possibly but I don't think so without a bunch of expensive adapters.

You will need some kind of adapter to get the video into the Columbus. There is this but it's only composite inputs: http://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/av-interfaces/vw-mfd3-rns510-av-interface-dual#!prettyPhoto

This will then leave you with the problem of trying to get composite output from the iphone6 which I don't believe it supports either!

There may be other AV interfaces that will allow HDMI inputs but I've not seen any.

If I was to down load youtube videos to a SD card would they work?

The only thing it can play are standard DVD's, so no video from SD or any other sources.

The DVD will need to be a proper DVD as well rather than just copying some video files onto one. This shouldn't be too hard to achieve as I'm pretty sure there is plenty of software out there to create home movie style DVD's. You would just use the youtube videos as a source rather than you own footage. There are copyright implications here too but I won't go into those.

Assuming you have a windows PC, I'd probably start here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-live/movie-maker

Once you're happy with the clips it should just be a case of burning it to DVD as per these instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-live/movie-maker-burn-dvd
