Cream cloth seats

Featured Replies

Hello all, just joined up. Over here in Ireland and am seriously interested in a 13 reg 2.0 tdi elegance. 27k miles. Ticks most boxes for me except for one. Cream coloured cloth seats! I would hate for this to be deal breaker. Any suggestions welcome ?

Cream coloured cloth seats!

At least they're not black!

More seriously, what kind of suggestions are you looking for? I've got them on my Elegance and after 14,000 miles they still look like new. I prefer them because they make the interior look lighter and more spacious.

Thanks spacenase, I suppose I was thinking if there was some way of covering them at an affordable price? The wife would take a bit of convincing that the young lads mucky boots or a bit of chocolate smudged in would leave a permanent stain. Is there some skoda accessory ?

I love mine, cream color makes the interior more spacious and relaxed.

After 58.000 km it looks like almost new. Check the pictures.

The truth is I don't have kids and 99% of the time I don't have passengers.

I think it's not practical with small kids but looks very well in my opinion.

I think it can be cleaned with steam (if the car don't have heated seats).

You can see some dirt on mine (usually I'm wearing jeans). I will give it a clean in summer.

Overall it's not bad the cloth has good quality in my opinion.

Thanks for that aki78. Not sure my little monster could be trusted to keep muck or chocolate stains off the seats. Yours looks very well. I personally like the colour just wish they were leather.

I picked alcantara for mine, because I'm sick of the leather on our current Volvo. It's cold in the winter, hot in the summer and slippery all year around. Sure it's easier to keep clean, but it also needs regular treatments to prevent cracking in the long run.

(But I recently bought a Kärcher textile washer which should do the trick nicely.)

Thanks for that tip kallekilponen

Hey Brennane ! Welcome to Briskoda..!

I have to admit I'm generally not a fan of beige but it looks well in the Elegance Octavia. Something about how it highlights the shape of the seats much better than the black. That said the standard seats are nice too..!

In relation to your Q my father has a 2002 Mondeo with that colour interior and although having been abused by 4 of his grandchildren the seats looked good as new after a shampoo each year. If those old seats can handle it I'm sure the Octy can too.

Also - it must be an optical illusion but the steering wheel/gearstick/handbrake seem a much darker shade of black in the beige setup.!

...young lads mucky boots or a bit of chocolate smudged in...

Woah, stop right there.  Alarm bells should be ringing.  I have three young 'uns and even with black leather they manage to mark it.  At least leather can be wiped.

Think twice.

I had a Chrysler Avenger in dark green with cream fabric seats (a company car) and I used to cover 1000 to 1400 miles per WEEK. About once a month I gave them a vacuum and a rub over with a damp cloth. About once every three months I gave them a light spray with an upholstery cleaner.

The seats still looked good after two years hard use... Let's be honest upholstery cleaners and wipes have improved since the eighties.

I don't think its a deal breaker... In fact the opposite... It will make the cabin so light and airy.

I have cream leather which I though would be more stain resistant than the fabric centres on the standard seats, and we only have one teenager to worry about. I wouldn't have risked it with younger messier kids.

After almost a year they look great but I have had to clean and feed the leather. It does pick up blue from my jeans.

Id say unless it was full leather to avoid. Cream and kids really does not mix....also the lower dash plastics can mark more or less id just breathed upon so would imagine after some hard use cream plastics would also begin to look more tired quickly compared to the black.

Best option I think is the black leather/alcantara mix. The seat coverings (as with most Skodas using anything other than cloth) are not the highest of quality and my drivers seat base material is already showing some signs of bagging after 18.5k miles but the leather elements are largely wipe clean, the alcantara is hard wearing at least and easy enough to clean in the event of a spill/stain....its man made and so stands up to a good scrub.

In the UK the leather/alcantara mix is standard fit on Elegance models, we dont even get the option of cloth on these models, full leather only.

What about Autoglym Supaguard on the interior, that is supposed to help repel dirt and other debris.

I like bright interiors, just a pain to keep clean.

And having seen this car, the cream interior, wood trim and Rio Red are a cracking combination - looks really good.

Thanks andyvee!  :sun:

I would have to think twice with a light interior and kids though, fortunately it's generally just me in mine. I think you would be looking at fabric protection up front and very regular cleaning to keep it tidy. It is more resistant to stains than I thought it would be though.
