Waiting time and discount on new Citigos?

Featured Replies

We've been out looking at cars for my GF today, and she liked driving a Citgo so it's quite high on the list of choices. The finance quote on a 5 door elegance seemed reasonable but as we weren't quite ready to buy it wasn't worth haggling yet, or asking about delivery times.

Is there any movement on price with the 0% finance or is it basically take it or leave it?

For a standard car with no options is there much chance of finding one in stock or will it be a factory build?

There are some nice low mileage 18 month old ones around so that's another option for us.

  • Hi I've a CITIgo se on order should be getting it next week Got around £750 off 0% £160 down free servicing £118 a month with mats and reversing sensors based on 10k Oh and £100 cash back a Pi

  • the dealers make about £300 per car with the 0% you can get a discount but it depends on the garage. I shopped around farily heavily and ended up with a free pid on an SE, free servicing and a free

you can get a discount but it depends on the garage. I shopped around farily heavily and ended up with a free pid on an SE, free servicing and a free upgrade to a greentech engine. I pay £129 a month (10k miles) with a £500 deposit

depends on the garage, one of them wouldnt even move a quid or even reduce price of a pid etc. there really isnt big profit in these on a pcp, however I would shop around and ask them to beat each other... It worked for me.

Mine is a factory build, ordered last week - they said I should expect to pick it up at the end of March.

I ordered a Monte Carlo shortly after they were launched and there wasn't much wiggle room, but I got the spare wheel and jack kit thrown in free. Try haggling over the cost of the 'extras' such as the Autoglym Lifeshine, getting that for nothing would be OK.

I can get a monte for 139 and 139 with 5k miles pa. If I up that to 8k and pay a bigger deposit that's not too bad but I don't think they throw in the free service pack now??

Oh yeah,I forgot about the 3 years free servicing.

That seems very reasonable.

It is but when you add the servicing on though it takes the prices into rapid, fabia or ibiza territory. The only thing is I don't rate the 1.2tsi engine massively!

I really would never consider paying servicing when so many garages will add it for free with very little pushing.  I got it offered on an I10, UP!, KA, a Suzuki and the Citigo!

I thought I would buy a new one at one point. I wouldn't buy a new one now. They are good little cars but too expensive IMHO and you lose a lot of money quickly. 2nd hand makes much better value, they are all low mileage!

The Blades group offer £750 minimum trade in on a Citigo but if you haggle they'll just give you £750 off

I still don't get it how servicing could be "free". Who pays it? How much they give discount for the car, if you don't take "free servicing "? ;)

It depends on the promotions. When I got mine sokda were giving you 3 free services if you bought the car on a pcp.

That seems very reasonable.

Go to carwow.com put in the exact model and colour. Dealers will start emailing you their best prices. I used this to negotiate £460 off the price of an Se and its 0% with free servicing.

Not paying anything above the cost they add into the basic car price?  Your obliviously not going to get it "free" but im sure not going to let them make a huge profit on it and cost myself an extra few hundred lol

How well they do the servicing, if it was already paid at the same time car was purchased. It's like free loan for dealer when they get money couple of years beforehand. Nothing wrong about that if everybody knows how it goes. Do they know?

I'm just curious, because in my country it's not allowed advertise "free servicing", because there is not such thing in real world. They are allowed to advertise "included in price", or so. ;)

That seems logical and very honest to me. I never believe any "free" offers.

Many years ago I was involved in the TV trade and once attended a sales conference where the subject of pricing came up and the question was asked "who pays for the guarantee?". The answer given was that it is included in the price paid by the customer but don't tell them that!

In answer to part of the original question, I've been told 8-12 weeks for a factory order, but will wait and see.

mine was ordered yesterday and I was told 2nd week in May! Hoping it gets delivered before then!

Any discount??

I don't know if Seat have more wiggle room but I've been offered this on a standard spec Mii Sport:

Negative equity on my Mii Toca covered: ~£600

£380 discount

£500 deposit, £130/month 0% PCP and 3 years servicing.

Probably not the best deal ever, but not bad?

Through carwow we got quotes of about 400 quid off an elegance or Monte with the 0%.

Might have found a nearly new Elegance which we are going to see at the weekend.

I didn't negotiate on the 0%. I simply asked them to throw in some of the rubber mats for free, and a full tank of fuel - which they did.

My waiting time was 6 months, unfortunately. But I appear to have been particularly unlucky, and this was September 2013 for March 2014 delivery. Things will almost certainly have changed.

Hi Mike, I ordered mine yesterday as well so.......race on!!, which one did you go for?

About 15 weeks, and we are getting it tomorrow. A bit more than we expected, but good is worth waiting for. :sun:

It's good to remember that there was christmas between ordering and receiving. It may extend waiting time.

I went for a tornado red Monte Carlo, what did you go for? My deal wasn't as good as I was offered on Car wow but it's local to me! I got around £200 off list and an extra £200 on my p/x. They tried to sneak that life shine nonsense and gap insurance but I declined both.
