Something has possessed my Roomster... In past couple of months it has taken to locking itself, even with keys in ignition, and once with engine still running whilst stopped to open a gate. Luckily close to home, dashed back, got spare key and manually unlocked door. We have to carry spare key at all times now, only a matter of time before we lock both keys in .... any suggestions? Helpfully, the wee light on the central locking button comes on in case we haven't realised what's happening

I've just had a very similar problem with my mk1 octavia the central locking constantly locking itself. I don't know if it's and use to you but the cause of my problem was the rear washer pipe had come apart above the near side rear wheel arch in the boot and drenched 3 plugs in the wiring loom. After cleaning these with contact cleaner and spraying with wd40 problem solved.
