Octavia vRS or Mustang 5.0 V8?

Featured Replies

Go on, you know you want to :)

But then who wouldn't?

Any older Mustang burbles past our road end most days, and you can tell what it is from way off

The Mustang is interesting for sure..... but if i had the £30k now - in hand... my preferred option would be a C6 Audi RS6 Avant with the V10 TFSI...

Viewed a couple already in fact; but not changing car until our house move is sorted (that's dragging on a bit too!)

It fits the bill for the family duties, power levels, and tuning options going forward. Sorry to stray a little off topic.  :notme:

  • My bad. Anyone who spends £33k on an Octy (£18k depreciation as soon as you drive it?) need to be tested for illegal substances.

  • Couldn't I just have two Skylines instead?

  • Maybe these things are more burbling cruisers.   Saw the "classic car show" on the players the other evening with teh guy going round London in a Corvette Stingray. I'm sure it handles like a drunk

MUSTANG    end of B)

Mustang will be fun until you come to a bend and a diesel Octy overtake you ;)

Are they RHD now ?

Did you not see Top Gear - being brought in full RHD, hence Hammond saying they'd 'lost something'

And it's dangerous to overtake on bends

No i didnt watch Top Gear. I remember one trying to keep up with me on a twisty road , excellent comedic value

SOMETIMES is dangerous to overtake on bends

Wow , on my list for replacement car, and I pay that now for tax! and will not be mistaken for a Taxi like the diesel Octavia is  :peek:

ALSO 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque

If running and fuel costs we're an issue, then I wouldn't have either :D

I agree Alan.  I pay the same road tax and I've only got a piddling 280bhp so it seems like a bargain to me if it's in the same tax bracket.  In fact I might as well get the remap done on my car and start to chip away at the 420bhp of the Mustang.  I'd only have another 110bhp to go after the Stage 1......

And £33k on a ******* skoda?

Im the only one that doesnt really like modern mustangs then?

Mustang all day long! I'd almost be tempted to get one after I move on from the M135i tbh :-)

To be honest with a sountrack like that it wouldn't really matter

No but have owned some muscle cars in the past , its got its charms but for

UK roads it's too big and too heavy

Dont tend to suit the UK's corners i guess?

Do muscle cars really handle that bad?

It beats the 350z in tests and that's the old 12 plate one

I wouldn't want to be driving around London in an R8 that's for sure, yet if it was a Lambo I suspect a different reaction!

I hired a 2014 Mustang GT in Vegas a couple of years ago.  I loved it and it made me want one as a second car.  Everyday is the Diesel vRS but not at £33k!

Got a link ?

Cant find it now but it came third in a group test, the Nissan 5th

According to the fools in TG, a barge it aint. Better than a GT86 they say. I'd have one as a second or third car. Hilarious fun, in the same way I've envisaged the Monaro VXR thing to be.

Yeah read that ,"The new Stang has a stack more grip, more power, more torque and is an altogether bigger, faster car" the same could be said when you compare a 170CR diesel to the GT86 , hardly a fair comparison to either
