2013 superb mystery fault

Featured Replies

hi all I wonder if anyone has had similar fault/ gremlin as I have (2013 2.0 tdi 140 se wagon)

I keep getting messages reading optical parking system not available when travelling forwards at motorway speeds and unable to display tempter ur at present , both displayed on bolero screen. I also get button for driver assistance faulty on mfd ( no driver assistance fitted ) my doors will lock and unlock at motorway speeds and the indicators seem to go out of sequence. All this generally occurs after a couple of hours driving intermittently . Skoda have had the car for 5 days and cannot find any cause to the fault , we have decided to disconnect the parrot hands free as it's the only thing non standard . ?????

Sounds like a door loom or convenience module fault

Thanks for your help , parking sensors always work when reverse engaged . Loom and ccm ruled tested ok as I asked about them and if battery/ alternator were also ok .they seem to think it's the parrot kit taking a voltage from the canbus system . But I don't agree as my previous Octavia had parrot fitted with no faults .

Open up the driver's side fuse box - are there any wires piggy-backing onto fuses in there?

Yes I believe the skoda tech said that a block had been put in the fuse box . I am taking this to mean the parrot takes its live feed from there .

Take a picture and post it in here? It sounds like whoever fitted your parrot may have taken a power feed from the parking sensor circuit. Should be easy to put it onto another, less sensitive, circuit.
