Rear bumper protector on Scout?

Featured Replies

Has anyone attached a rear bumper protector on a Scout? From what I gather, the protectors available on Superskoda are not suitable for the Scout.

Thanks! The stainless steel one looks good, but with delivery charge to Norway at £100, I think I'll look elsewhere!

Dont understand. Their website says delivery outside of UK is £20.

With taxes and fees it will probably cost close to £100 all in all.

I asked Rearguard about the Scout protector in December and then they didn't have one and said the normal one would not fit.

I had one from the dealer for £68 which should have been £78,although in the brochure it did say £59 which they said was wrong.

I got the silver one and it looks good with the Corrida red.

Hi Gomezz, I'm looking to get the silver bumper protector for the wifes new scout - was yours the 'normal' Skoda genunie accessory? I've got a black one on its way for the vRS combi we have but most suppliers seem to exclude the Scout and vRS from the normal items, as OP says. Unfortunately the Scout is a month or two from delivery so won't get chance to line the black one up to try it prior to fitting to the vRS.

My guessing is it will fit ok, as it seems its only the silver one that is shown as not fitting the vRS / Scout but they are surely the same size/width/length just different finish - and i've seen pics on here of a vRS with the black one on.

Part number for silver is 5E9064711B and black 5E9064711

Interestingly a google search for 5E9064711B brings up pictures of the bumper protector on vRS - from superskoda's own site, although the description on the actual shop states not for vRS / Scout - hence another reason i think both black and silver would fit both vRS combi/estate and Scout.

I'm guessing the issue maybe that the templates used (see below) for setting out the correct position may not fit the scout or vRS bumper - but even if they don't its not beyond my wit to measure the protector position myself.

Hi Exeterj, yes it was the genuine Skoda one but whether it was Scout specific or not I don't know, but if I had to guess I would think not.

It came with the templates but I found it more of a faff to use them! It fits perfect but I don't know the part number the bits are in the bin.

Thanks Gomezz, I haven't noticed a scout or vrs specific one, so willing to take an educated gamble these will fit ok. Our scout isn't in build til wk 18 so I'll try the black one for vrs when it arrives and decide then before ordering silver one for scout.

Maybe just of interest to myself but someone might find this useful at some point...

Received the official skoda black bumper protector (5E9064711) from superskoda - and the score with it not listed as fitting the vRS (and presumably the same reason as the Scout) is that the vRS obviously has a 'deeper' bumper than the standard car.

Apologies for the dirty car, but the photo shows the supplied template on my vRS estate and indicates that the flat section is approx 15-20mm wider on the vRS than the standard bumper....

I don't see it being a problem as i will just mount the protector further out from the boot lid itself, as it is more likely to get scratched nearer the edge of the bumper IMO. I'm guessing this is the same for the Scout.

I know that this is the previous version of the Scout but I much prefer the silver bumper protector to match the lower section of the bumper...

We went for the silver skoda one for our scout for that reason, matches the rear valance - not as much protection as the rgm ones (to the edge) but looks good I think

Here are two photos of the rear bumper protector fitted today to my 2016 Octavia Scout - purchased for £48 via the famous auction site, from Chromemaster Automotive in Poland.  Ordered on 9/08/17 delivered on 15/08/17. Good product, easy to fit, adhesive got good hold. Protector has covered a touched in scuff done by the previous owner.  It should help prevent my dogs claws marking the paintwork if she tries to jump in...

Also including a picture of my previous Skoda Octavia Estate - 4X4 model, 2002 regd.

Best wishes
