Can anyone advise on new tyres for a 61 reg Roomster Scout 1.2tsi 105bhp. can the low profile tyres be swapped for normal tyres without affecting ride or insurance requirements, i.e. altered spec

yes my tyre size are 205/45 R16 83W

Notwithstanding any insurance issues the main technical issue is likely to be the change in the circumference and this will lead to incorrect speedometer readings.

if you look inside the filler flap it will list the standard sizes for you car

 

I think sticking to them you will have fewer problems as you are still on a standard size for the vehicle

 

you may have to drop to 15" wheels

 

why do you want to ditch the low profiles? rough ride?
