Still kinda like to get my car on a rolling-road test, but it probably won't be fun watching my car getting thrashed on rollers.

Anyone want to do a group rolling-road visit at some point?

I suppose we could meet up at Jabba for a RR session...?

Head off to nearby pub after for a bite to eat?

Defo up for a rr sessions.....I did ask in the performance forum if anyone was interested.

I was thinking sometime early next year and definately after I've fitted the Milltek dp and sports cat.

p.s sorry to push thread off topic.....sort of.;)

But you'd need to do a RR before you make the changes, for your baseline... :D

Steve,

you could be right there.......got sort of a baseline from remap but due to temperature, pressure and bad fuel it's not a true reading (I hope).

Decisions, decisions.......

Any other potential attendees have a view on a RR session?

Can we leave the cars there and just bugger off for lunch? Or do we need to hang around and listen to the engines being tortured? :D

Maybe

You sure, Q? :D

I'm a definate maybe for either meet or RR session. It really depends on time/location. Oh, and don't forget the ball and chain

I'm up for both too.... depends what the other interested parties are up for...

If we're going to do this, we're going to have to sort a date... preferably before winter sets in!

Same here, either will do.

Not fussed either. RR day is fun but lots of hanging around etc.

Perhaps we could then go for a drive

:drive1: :drive1:

I may be up for a rolling road day or a normal meet. Should be picking up the vRS next week! :D

Excuse me guys , I know that I'm not involved here as I won't be coming either way ........too far , but why a rolling road day ? ...............some of you have already been Jabba'd , so you know what BHP/Torque you have ..........as for those that haven't , what difference does it make .

Perhaps someone can explain to me why the need to go on a rolling road day ..............I just don't understand .

Honestly , I'm not being funny ..........I just don't understand why .

I don't know what torque/BHP I have...but that's a long and well documented story.

Freakcrab , in your case I can understand why ..........you want to know if the original test car that produced "those" figures was chipped or not . My guess is that it was/is .

In that case maybe we're talking about 2 seperate meets.

On the same or different days.

I'm sure plenty of people would like a nice drive but not a RR session, just we kinda drifted off topic that way.

Yes, just the drive for me, not the RR. Don't think I'd gain much useful info from putting my tractor on a set of rollers!

:D

Well, you might want to know how your car compares with others, whether it is still pushing out the same power and torque as last time it was measured, whether any new mods have made any difference to the figures .... etc. etc....

The only reason I'd be interested in a RR (either at Jabba or with the other VAG lot closer to home in Witham) is to see what the car 'puts out' as baseline, as its unmodded. Idle curiosity and all that...

Having said that, it's not something I feel I really must do :D

Now I've got the car there is no problem in attending meets, except its got to be on a Sunday.

Why don't you all come down to Lakeside Services (Drop the missus off shopping first!!) and meet up with the Seat Enthusiasts lot ? I'm going as some of my friends have also changed from the blue oval to the VAG group.

I hadn't forgotten about suggesting a meeting place in/near Cambridge. However I only go there occasionally to shop and always use Madingley Park & Ride because of traffic/parking problems in the city. Duxford might be a better option. Just off the M11 at J10, it is centrally located for an Eastern Meet. The Imperial War Museum at Duxford would be a possible venue - admission to the Museum is

I don't know about anyone else, but a visit to Duxford would be very good, IMHO :D

Think I went there many, many years ago... going to the London I.W.M soon for my birthday treat! :)

Also - Lakeside on a sunday? :scared smilie:

Duxford sounds cool mate. Not been there for years! Not too much of a jaunt for me really. M25, M11 and I'm there. :D
