Troubleshooting - SkodaAuto Bolero - Help please!

Featured Replies

I wondered whether someone could help.  I have a 2010 automatic Yeti Elegance and up until now the Bolero was working perfectly.  However, this morning I can't get any sound from it and there is a symbol on the touchscreen with a loudspeaker crossed out (i.e.: mute).  Does anyone know how to unmute it?  I have looked in the manual but can't find the answer.....there is no sound from the radio/bluetooth or CD player so I'm hoping this is something that is easily fixed - if you know how !!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Have you tried touching the "mute" on the actual screen........

You should have a volume control on e steering wheel which scrolls up and down to increase or reduce the volume. Instead of scrolling, push it in. Voila!

Press the "phone" button on theactual Bolero unit, or press the volume rotary knob on the steering wheel.

That should cure it.

Thanks everyone!  I've tried all your suggestions but to no avail.  I'm starting to think there's something more serious wrong with it now as when I try to play a CD using "selection" it has several highlighted in green but none play, even without the sound.   It was absolutely fine last time I used it but that is the wondrous thing with computers/technology I s'pose.

I presume these units are pretty expensive....arrgh.

I believe that some Bolero owners have solved similar problems by removing the fuse that supplies the radio for a few minutes. When replaced the radio came back to life!

Have you also looked in the ICE and technology section?

Fred

They're not too expensive at all but I'd be more inclined to think it's a sticking button something similar.

I'm very impressed with how responsive people are on this forum, thank you.

I'll ask my husband to remove the fuse for a few minutes and see if that does the trick and I'll also look at the other section you mention Fred.

Pull out the main fuse located under the bonnet....check the owners manual for the correct fuse position...........and that will fix it.

We had a prob a few years back where the Bolero controls would not respond and this course of action sorted it all.  :)

That's very good to know!  I realised I sounded a bit pathetic saying my husband would remove the fuse, I'm afraid gender stereotypes are alive and well in our house.  I've only just found out how to open the bonnet this morning !!

That's quite alright..............now get back and finish the dusting dear :D

ha ha!

Even on machinery costing hundreds of thousands of pounds you sometimes have to reset the electronics by "pulling the fuse" . Modern technology eh!!

Used to be great training the new engineers straight from university and watching them pulling their hair out. Let them stew for a bit then say "just knock the power off, it's just a bigger version of your Sky box".

Success!  Thanks again everyone, I gave up waiting for my husband and decided it couldn't be that difficult, it wasn't and everything is now working perfectly.  Phew.

Nice to know all this support is out there.
