hi everyone im pretty new to the forum i signed up a while ago whilst we were in the market for a fabia vrs but the couple of deals we had in the fire fell through so we ended up with a 206 gti which has been a surprisingly good motor and will be a bit sad to see it go on friday evening. There is one big reason for the gti being sold on and that is me and the wife fount out last week that were expecting our first baby so the 206 just wouldnt of been a very ideal car being 3 door and quite loud with the de catted exhaust system on there etc.

now im a huge car lover you could say its my big passion and have owned some great cars down the years which if truth be told have always been my main priority starting with a twin 40 equipped nova sr onto a huge spec thottle bodied mgzr then onto a lovely black fiesta rs turbo then onto what was my baby renault 5 gt turbo which ended up at 238bhp still a 1.4 8v . you might tell from that i like to modify a car in the right areas and certainly not in the max power mould.

 

anyway enough rabbling on from me, i got in touch with a really nice guy who was selling his 51 plate octavia vrs in black via pistonheads last weekend and decided this was to be the car for us, the wife really likes the motor also which is a big help especially when she looked at the size of the boot

DESCRIPTION

Here we have my precious VRS Octavia for sale. I have owned this car since 2004 and it has never wanted for anything. It comes with a fully stamped service book, mainly serviced at Farmers Skoda in Leicester and latterly at a VW/Skoda specialist. I have all receipts and previous MOT's including the original hand book etc.8 Months MOT, The car is immaculate for its age and has a super clean and unworn interior (never smoked in). The mileage has been mainly motorway due to my daily commute to work and has never let me down. The engine pulls like new and is completely original.

all this motor for 1,195 pound which i still cant believe its an absolute bargain

 

now the plans are to sensibly modify the car to keep it practical for the wife and baby so no noisy exhaust systems etc but this still shouldnt stop me improving on what i feel is a great all round engine (my bro has owned 2 20v turbo cars) so i do know quite a bit on the tuning side of these things but by no means am i an expert.

 

i have already purchased a cai kit from fellow member octycal and as long as it arrives this week i will get it fitted this sunday before i give the car a good detail (oh yes thats another hobby of mine). i am then looking to fit an uprated tip and other related hoses and possibly a decat downpipe onto the existing oe exhaust system, once done a stage 1 remap at either psi tuning or more bhp will be carried out to keep me happy for now, but seriously watch this space in the coming months as im sure ill have some interesting updates for you all

 

 

well we collected the car yesterday morning, you would never believe it has covered 144k it is as tight as new no rattles squeeks or bangs engine pulls really well ticks over lovely quite as a mouse.

it is due a big service including cambelt kit change so i ordered and picked up the following yesterday

 

cam belt kit, water pump, thermostat, oil and filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and brake fluid. also going to remove the throttle bodie and give that a clean.

 

the paintwork is looking like it has done 144k though alot of swirls and quite a few scratches but they dont seem deep so fingers crossed i can spend a good few hours on it and get it looking a bit more like it.

so me and the good wife spent a good 5 hours on the car today this consisted of in no particular order 

 

washed/clay mitted/alloys cleaned/ tyres dressed/ fallout removed/ windows cleaned and polished/ pre wax cleanser/ polished and waxed/ trim dressed/ interior cleaned/leather cleaned and treated/ ex dealer decal removed from boot glue removed etc/ engine bay cleaned.  i think thats it i was intending on fitting the cai kit but my back is absolutely killing me so it can wait until next weekend now.

Clay barring (mitting) is te bomb! I did mine today and wanted to lick it... :p

the g3 clay mitt is honestly one of the best things iv bought, makes claying so effortless, haha it can have that effect fella

car is booked in this thursday with my mate at gt motorsport in stoke for a full service including fuel filter and brake fluid change and also a cambelt /waterpump replacement as its due 60k since its last change.

cannot stress enough how much me and the wife like this car

honestly no but i can see what your saying, although the carpet in the car is in perfect condition

I think around 220ish on the oe turbo should be easy enough to get and keep us happy for a while. Id like to eventually get it up around 260-280

Damn that'll shift! 220 is a good figure for any car

Should liven it up a little thats for sure

My old r5 gt turbo was running 238bhp still a 1.4 8v pushrod engine on a carb oh and it only weighed 860kg so that thing was silly quick did a 12.1 1/4 mile in 2013.

I do miss that car but honestly i would take the octavia vrs even in standard form over it everytime.

well the wife finished work early today so it gave me chance to do a few jobs on the car this consisted of the following 

 

cleaned the throttle body

fitted k&n panel filter

fitted new numberplates 

 

had a little drive to the shops after and must say i do like the little extra noise when letting off the loud pedal

a more relevant update is that the car has had a full service with belts etc changed today by my good mate mark at gt motorsport in stoke, he also says its the diverter causing the hesitant boost issue every now and then, so iv purchased a 007p one via a fella over on facebook for £60. 

You will like that once it's installed I can't help but tap the loud pedal and hear it dump and then pop (I have a 3 inch straight through) plans sound good

there really is mate you wouldnt believe the difference 2 plates have made, next on the list is new front and rear skoda badges and 4 new wheel centre caps and new wheel nut covers, again little things that all come together to freshen it up
