Hoping the sports seats suit me well!

Won't be able to use mirror link with my nexus 5 but I'm going to arrange to get a HTC m9 this weekend so once they launch it I'll be able to play. I do hope music streaming works! Although DAB will be nice to have!

I will add my thoughts once I've played with it all!

Checking the tyre pressures as the car is delivered & after you collect the car is a good indication of how the PDI might have been carried out.

Excellent news, your car is exactly what i would be ordering incl of the sports seats so an update on how the DSG performs and everything else would be much appreciated.... what colour did you go for ?

 

Everything is on it but the bike rack and the gloss black dash when i ordered it (since i ordered the panoramic roof & tow bar are now available - although both would be useless as the sunroof doesnt open & would just heat up the car & the tow bar wont be used)

 

Race Blue and the 17" Prestige wheels look nice with the sports suspension. It isn't as low as i thought it would be but it does look nice.

 

Seats dont have as much lumbar as im used to (just changed from a BMW 130i with electric seats and adjustable lumbar) but I think i've found a comfy seating position.

 

 

 

I have the supersports steering wheel and its very nice. not as thick as the BMW, but that didnt have any feel at all to drive.

 

I havent pushed the car at all and have mainly driven in traffic, and with now only 100 miles on the clock its at 40mpg. I expect this to rise as it beds in.

 

Its comfortable and quiet. Can barely hear the engine working. Stop start is barely noticeable. Didnt work until the car was over 40 miles so I guess the battery needed charging.

 

The DSG is super quick and nearly as smooth as a CVT for changes, so very happy with. It doesnt drop any ratios at full throttle, unless you get to the kickdown. very smooth and happy with this.

 

The LED lights have been complimented, and I'll test the lights later on this evening.

 

I cant use nexus 5 with mirrorlink & even with android auto app on my phone, I cant use any sat nav functions. I do have a clear bluetooth phone signal & the music streaming works well.

 

I'll possibly order a HTC M9 tomorrow as I think i'll make the most of the functions

 

Smartgate is connected through a wifi connection (the password is the VIN no. - I found the 0's were actually zeros). The throttle and brake icons are really responsive. I am yet to test this while driving, although have it setup to use!

 

The phone holder doesnt fit my phone as its too fat!

 

I showed my girlfriend the car earlier, and she only saw the outside but doesnt like the look of it.

 

I cant tell the difference

 

 

 

 

Overally on the first day I'm happy with it. I know over the next few weeks to drive carefully to bed it in, but expect a more thorough test soon

on a lighter note, in the interior photo the climate control reminds me of an old 80's radio cassette player the way it has two knobs and the screen looks like the cassette slot, sorry showing my age

My girlfriend sat in and immediately complimented the brushed dash.

She also said the engine sounds nice too. Although I wasn't revving and compared to the big 6 cylinder I used to have it sounds diesely.

Its definitely a tight engine. Doesn't seem that responsive but I'm comparing this to a Car with more than twice the power.

The gearbox is really quick and the stop start seems flawless.

Had the collision sensor warning flash up so I can tell that works. Its pretty sensitive and the parking sensors are too.

It seems to grip and turn in quickly.

Mirrorlink tested today.

HTC one m8 with no added apps.

Can't be used while moving.

Can't see how the navigation would be useful either as you have to stop to use it. I think a trip to the garage is needed!

very nice, I sat in one today (at the midlands meet) with the same steering wheel and seats, seats were VERY nice, and I now want the steering wheel inmy vRS! lol....

I am already starting to notice the feel in the steering wheel that was missed in my old car. Turn in is really quick. Barely any body roll for how tall it is.

Rides over speed bumps well.

Hill hold is really useful.

The dash looks fantastic at night.

Stereo sound quality is awesome, especially with digital content from a phone. Really happy with it!
