Right well, probably get a longer rant when im not in such a hurry to shower and go get the gf all tipsy.

1st impressions

Arrived a dealership...

Inspected car...

some minor cosmetic damage!

Scuffed under bumper (transporter scar?)

Thanks for the warning guys!

Also 2 scratches on sills, one paintchip on door, dirty footwell...

Dealer very apologetic, if they dont sort it out, Ill prolly name and shame them. (you reading this guys?)

Got a TOAD alarm (thatch 1) instead of Skorpion...

Has Skoda stopped using the skorpions??? Maybe im a cynic but could the TOAD be cheaper? :(

Tank, on the full mark, but plenty of space for more... :(

The drive...

Oh well, fantasic!

Just done 120 miles.... and HOW HARD is it to keep it under 4K rpm!

Think I embarrased a 5-series beemer.

BUT THE BEST BIT, had me madly grinning!

Met My cars TWIN on the A610 Ripley, 1 letter diff on the reg!

Got grins and a wave all around!

Oh, the stereo, yeeeesssssss. Bit weak isnt it... "Mr stereo, meet Mr Wheelie bin"

Apparently tho the silver mesh makes my friends eyes go funny, oh well, might have to sell it....

Jono

Nice one Jono, glad you're enjoying it and welcome to The Dark Side.:asthanos:

Get the stereo and speakers sorted and unless you're very unlucky, you'll have a hard time finding fault.:D

Re: Toad. I always thought they were pretty good?

Re: Fuel. I have never managed to get a full tank out of a dealer, cheapskates

Also, has anyone explained the 'slippery slope' theory to you?

Jono, now you see why we Skoda owners are so pleased with our cars - almost regardless of model. And just a modest outlay on mods can result in a permanent grin... :D

For once I'll agree with Denis (then go for a long lie down :D ). These cars are all excellent, seem to induce a grin and are just about the best value you can get. And as for the modest outlay - DO IT! :D

Crikey

180BHP is quite tasty isnt it :)

What the hell is it like at, say 226bhp!

Im a happy man :)

AND Ive just sold my old car

Happy Happy Happy.

Now, Im off to wash the crap that last nights rain washed off the trees and onto my new lover.

Think I "winged" a peasant (sic) out driving yesterday. Poor beastie. Hope it was ok :(

Its quite poetic at the mo, My Skoda is parked next to a skip!

(What do you call a skoda with a sunroof?)

My friend remarked that Skoda leave themselves wide open to jokes by making the Hazard Warning button so damn big!

Jono

Welcome to the fold -- I'm glad you like the vRS -- just wait till you get it Jabba'd - I can tell you that mear figures don't convey the change that Jabba bestow on these cars -- it's amazing.

They dont, thats normal VW group parts...as used in my VW Transporter, as well as Golfs, Passats et al.

Just look at most new cars these days, big hazard warning switches are the in thing for safety reasons.

Andy

Jono,

Winged a peasant (ie someone who didn't buy a Skoda) or winged a pheasant (ie large bird, a bit gamey)

I'm a large bird and I'm game ;)

I walked right into that didn't I?

As in the Bird, thankfully no feathers in the radiator.

Actually think it got away ok

I now see what Jon meant when he said that he had been involved in some fowl play in Germany with Amanda!
