I saw these rims taken from a skoda rapid with the measurements 7Jx16 H2 ET46 will they fit on 205 55 16 comfortably to install on an octavia 2 fl? keep in mind that the wheel on the previous rims are 215 45 16 and that 16 inch OEM octavia rims are 6.5Jx16 H2 ET 50

 

Iam worried that I alter the car stability since iam a new driver and my friend warned me if i fit wrong rims or tires it will effect the handling and braking greatly.

They won't fit as they're the wrong PCD

Rapid is 5x100.

Octavia mk2 is 5x112

The only way you could do it would be to fit hub-centric adaptors.  You don't really want to do that.

 

If the PCDs were the same you'd be fine.  It wouldn't alter the "balance".  215/45r16 sounds wrong for an Octavia - or is that the Fabia tyre size?

well thats that! ill change my tires only then....what do you recommend? i have 15in OEM alloy wheel with 195 65 15....i am thinking about 205 60 15, keep in mind where i live its a nightmare of potholes and rubbish roads...will i get a harsh ride or will it be unnoticeable?

Why do you want to change the size of your tyres?

lifetime is up plus I've got one bulge on one of them....as to why the change of heart...my rims are called pyxis,they are 6.5J x 15“ H2, ET 50 and i think their original size was 205 60 15 but when i bought the car i guess the owner changed them to 195 65 15 which according to skoda shop, the rim can fit both sizes...

 

so from your point of view will there be a difference in either: A-Comfort B-Stability between 205 60 15 and 195 65 15? or the difference is unoticable? the reason iam asking because there is a price difference...the 205 is more expensive

Stick with 195/65/15. It's a standard size, will give a slightly better ride, and as you said, is cheaper.

 

You should not notice any difference in stability.
