Just been to the dealer who were brilliant. They're going to order the parts and change the dash free of charge. They'll also valet the car and put some petrol in for my trouble. I can't fault that kind of customer service.

They activated automatic door locking while I was there too.

So did you get the black dashboard insert for £50 even though you didn't order it? Or was it something completely different entirely? I've ordered the black dashboard and now you made me worried that's tacky...

There seems to be some confusion as the dealer are under the impression that black is the standard dashboard with the brushed finish being a £50 option. The brochure states the opposite so they're sorting it and that's all that matters to me.

There are two different black finishes; piano black, which is a classy gloss finish, and then what I have which looks cheap to me. I can't find it anywhere online in any pictures to show what I mean.

Yes, that's it. It isn't mentioned as an option in the UK brochure.

Here it is. I can see no mention of Basket Matt in the UK brochure or on skoda.co.uk.

Dark Brushed looks so much nicer and will hopefully be fitted to my car soon.

My SE L has just arrived and it's got the black pimply dash.

Not yet. My dealer has assured me that it's on order. I'd better chase it up.

Good luck. It's just that my dealer told me that it's a factory fit item today.

I got mine today with the £50 option insert. A bit underwhelming Prog I agree. Glad you are getting it sorted. I didn't choose mine because it was a stock car but seeing the difference I would have chosen brushed. Sounds like you've got a cracking dealer.

I am also interested in retrofitting this panel. My mother in law scratched her insert and I'm trying to find the part number to replace it.
